This is Part 2 (of 2) discussing my Top 20 games for the Nintendo 64. This part covers #10 through #1 as well as some honorable mentions. I know gamers have different tastes and memories of playing games. That said, this is a list of my favorite games. I don't expect everyone to agree with me. If nothing else, use my list as suggestions for some games you may want to check out. Thanks for watching.

As a viewer, I like the anticipation of rooting for my favorite games to be on lists like these, but once I get to the end I want to make sure people know their favorites weren't forgotten. If I put honorable mentions at the beginning the video would lose the anticipation. I would be declaring that such games didn't make it.

The ending of Ocarina of Time still moves me more than the ending of any video game released in recent years has. It'll always be my favorite video game.

@@Scorp316 nice. I got a ps4 pro and i play my lil bros n64 every year during holiday season. Conkers bad fur day was always the best multiplayer gamr when we were kids. Or goldeneye was good too

There was a time when I held Banjo up higher, but Mario is such a defining moment that in retrospect I appreciate the "newness" it brought to gaming. Before Mario 64, I never knew video games could do such things.

I really enjoyed your passion towards Zelda:OoT, and you are absolutely right it really is an amazing game and will always hold a special place in my heart for so many reasons. Metroid Prime is another game that gives me that same feeling.

AWESOME LIST! I agree! I have most of these games but you reminded me of games I still have to track done. Well done! The N64 is still a great system provided you have a good way to hook it up to your modern TV.

No WaveRace 64? That game was revolutionary for racers at the time, and had great graphics, soundtrack and multiplayer. Easily better then that Beetle game.

Just the sound of super mario 64's "underwater theme" at the beginning of the video brought back so many childhood memorable moments to the point where I realized not only is it one my favorite games of all time, but probably the best N64 game ever.

Man that was an awsome top 20 for the n64. Not only because I agree with your decisions but also because of the way you present the games, short and sweet. And dude I almost forgot about Beatle racing until today. Thanks for that. Unfortunately I don't own a N64 but I do have a emulator. So I'm gonna go download some other games that you have reminded me about. Thanks for the awsome video.

Good list. My top three would be: Perfect Dark, Majora, GoldenEye. Your top 20 was pretty good, and I was pleased that you gave a good spot to Beetle Adventure Racing, which is an often overlooked classic

3DS has some nice updated graphics for those two games. Not a graphical overhaul but still a step up.

Yes there are a TON of ways that you can play with better graphics if you have even a low end PC or a 3DS. Check out Nerrel's texture pack for Majora's mask here on KZfaq. Also, even if you have a low end PC, you can emulate the 3DS versions. I played them on my pc, connected to my 42 inch TV, and I believe that this is the definitive way of experiencing these games.

That music at the start of the video hit me real hard. Wow, the power of video game music. I was immediately taken back to my 20's when my cousin and I played the N64 to our hearts content. A great time in my life. The N64 was a total blast during the first few years. The 3-D graphics blew my mind and I loved it! Great video, NESComplex.

top ten n64 games Honorable mentions go to Star wars shadow of empire 1080 snowboarding wave race 64 perfect dark Mario golf 10. Ocarina of Time 9. Goldeneye 007 8. Ya know I never understood why Ocarina Of Time is loved and Majoras Mask is so hated. I mean now Majoras Mask is now been voted one of the best but that doesn't change anything. It has the same graphics, same gameplay, but a couple of minor differences. Different Story, New Gameplay elements. That's exactly what Majoras Mask had and in my opinion it had a much better story than Ocarnia. And once again personally I find Banjo Kazooie to be slightly better than Mario 64. Yes it was a copy and came out a few years after Mario 64 did but I feel it had more creative gameplay, more interesting characters and enemies and better level design. Say what you want but that's all my opinion. By the way just got my Nintendo 64 yesterday but I played ocarina of time on Wii when I was bout... 6? Ya six.

Dude! I LOVE Beetle Adventure Racing! I thought I was the foolish one for remembering this game so vividly. One thing you forgot to mention about it is it's catching music. Although, it was playing in the background. So, I suppose it goes without saying. Anyway, loved your top 20!

Sadly, I've only seen one list so far where Banjo-Tooie made it on. It's not only that people prefer Kazooie, but Tooie is mostly completely ignored as if it wouldn't even exist. It's disturbing.

Tooie could have been great, but they made one of the least enjoyable parts of the game part of the main focus in all the backtracking. Also, it doesn't have quite the same charm that Kazooie did.

The best top 20 I have seen by far! Brings back memories of playing all these master crafted video games. The only one I did not play was beetle adventure racing which I would replace by super smash bros. I can always go back and replay all of these titles again and again. Just don't seem to make games like this anymore... Once again, awesome job with this top 20. Will be watching all the others you've made

Great list Chris. Brings back so many great memories. Waking up on a Sunday morning with my brother and turning on the N64 with the opening of Ocarina of Time,, hearing Eponas gollop playing whilst we were making breakfast and then just playing it ! We were all mezmorised by OOT. Desperate for Majoras Mask to get a 3ds release !

Excitebike 64 was my Beetle Racing. I knew it wasn't popular or revolutionary, but I would spend literally hours in the infinite desert map just goofing around and doing tricks.

As far as I remember, the traditional pronunciation is likely to be Oh not Aw, but changed when it was brought overseas. Many words have two acceptable pronunciations, and I think this is a word that should likely fall under that list of words.

Thankyou for putting Diddky Kong Racing so high! It's such an underrated gem - that game managed to create a truly unique feel, a true delight to play - the music, worlds and characters were incredible!! And Majoras mask is truly a work of art. I always feel a daunting feeling just before I switch the cartridge on. It really feels like you have an undertaking in a different world.

Great conclusion to a great list :) some of these games I never heard of, many I've never played, personally can't get into the Zelda 64 games, but I wasn't a huge fan as a kid then completely missed the N64 till I was 30, but I have to give them credit for what they've done for the series and gaming in general... Thanks man!

Hey NESComplex, your retro gaming channel is really awesome! You present all these games with so much passion! I grew up with a SuperNintendo which I still have, and your videos kind of inspired me to get some more games for it. Later on I also had a PSX, but never really an N64. However after this Top20 video, I started playing some of the games which you mentioned here aswell and I totally fell in love with the N64. Thank you for these great videos

Great list! I just played through OOT 3D (not my first playthrough). Playing through the original Majora's Mask on OG hardware now, and it is my first playthrough. I can see why it's controversial. It doesn't have near the handholding OOT did, and it's not always easy to figure out what to do. Now, add the pressure of a time limit. The jury is still out for me on this one, but the more I play it, the more I like it. Thankful for online guides!

I love watching these videos which remind me the 90's. They get me to that moment when i was 10, everything was so no HD that you care about the subject and the fun, the game and the innovative graphics. Now everything has sth to compare with. Gosh I miss the 90's

Great list, my personal top 20 wouldn't look much different. Beatle Adventure racing is a surprise though, gonna try and find a copy. Robotron 64 is a favorite of mine on the N64 that I keep coming back to even today.

I played The Ocarina of Time for the first time on Christmas morning 1998, I was 13 at the time, and it was the best day of my life so far, cannot remember ever being as happy as that day!

Nice top 10. Glad to see Conker in there. That game is great just like you said. Too bad it is rising in price fast. Also Beetle Adventure Racing is a great racing game. My wife gave me a weird look when you showed that and raved over it. I'm going to make her play it soon and see how good of a game it really is.

i played the majority of those games when i was a child, not properly played them.. just ran around a lot and re-doing the parts i enjoyed. since ive grown up ive been meaning to go back and play them all properly as my n64 still works. so far ive gotten through zelda OoT and pokemon snap and i started banjo kazooie. watching this has made me realize how awesome all these games are, if only i had enough time and patience to get through more of them

Many surprises on this list,the first being the Beetle racing game(wtf?),then seeing Majora's Mask and thinking "guess he picked that over Ocarina" which was of course followed by the actual game at no.1.at that time,i was then thinking you forgot about Mario 64 and THAT's when you show it as tie for no1 heh.nice list,i can definitely agree with most of it :) I have fond memories of going to my uncle's place to enjoy Diddy Kong Racing and Mario 64 at 8 in the morning(couldn't wait!) haha

Yep I still remember when OOT came out and playing it in Media Play, remember Media Play? Jeez prob one of the only games I remember sampling as a kid, that and RE remake in Babbages.

You'll be glad to hear I picked up Beetle Adventure Racing. I don't play a lot of racing games outside kart racers or Wave Race or F-Zero titles (mostly because I'm not very good at racers) but I'm looking forward to this, it looks a lot of fun an I like the idea of open pathways. Looking forward to checking it out.
