It just goes to show how much of an amazing console the Super Nintendo is because we couldn’t help but agree with all these games being this badass! Sure, even my favourite console (even 3 decades later) can have crap games from time to time (coming from a non-enthusiast of Mario Kart, Super Mario Kart is the only choice on this list I respectfully disagree with), but there’s so little compared to how many SNES games that would be considered the favourite games of most people including me, like Mega Man X1-X3, Donkey Kong Country 1-3, Super Mario World 1 (& its hacks like The Second Reality Project Reloaded 1 & 2, Bowser’s Valley, Luigi’s Adventure OSE (the game that inspired BV) The Essence Star, Invictus, Mario Gives Up 1-3, the VLDC6 sequels, Super Mario Omega, Mushroom Kingdom Meltdown 2, The Big Boo’s Legion, Mega Mario World: Another Universe, Kola Kingdom Quest, Mario’s Mystery Meat, etc), Super Metroid, Demon’s Crest, Super Castlevania IV, A Link to the Past, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, Actraiser 1 & 2, Super Mario All-Stars, Mega Man 7 (yeah, I said it! OK, maybe I don’t love it THAT much because of how it ended with a frustrating final boss and Mega Man becoming an edgelord, but it comes close to being one of my many favs!), Pac-in Time (I’ll say it again to piss off those that underrate the Pac-Man World games except for PMW3 and the GBA versions of PMW1&2), Street Fighter II, Kirby’s Dream Land 3, F-Zero, etc!

Maybe you play it again, but before that, you watch some speedrunn videos of the game. That opened up my eyes, what everything is possible in this game with special tricks and stuff🤯 It's now also my favorite game of all times.

5 years later, i hope you got through Metroid and onto Super Metroid. When you get the chance, try out Metroid Zero Mission for GBA. Metroid 1 remade more reminiscent of Super Metroid, best of both worlds

@@zednotzee my son swears by Zero and Fusion but I thought they were both wonkey and ugly Samus Returns on the 3ds on the other hand is a gem.

@@paulphoenix3299to each his own i guess. Fusion was an acquired taste for me, but i did acquire it. And Zero Mission i couldn't get enough of. But then, i played them both in 2008 after devouring Metroid Prime 3 and was just ravenous for anything with samus in it. I even bought Metroid Prime Pinball shortly afterward too

@@zednotzee much respect my friend I have only played and beat Metroid 1, Super Metroid, and then when my son left for basic training he said I should play Samus Returns on his 3ds to which i did and loved so much I got his old DS out and played both Fusion and Zero. I just didnt care much for the latter 2. Either way ALL HAIL SAMUS! and heres hoping for more platform Metroids in the future. Cheers.

Tbh I never played it back in the day. Kicking myself now. My emulated copy though doesn't seem to let me preform a vital move which makes the game unplayable.

Lufia 1 over Lufia 2? That's interesting. You may be the first person I've seen that's placed the first one over the second one. I didn't play the second until last summer and was blown away with how much better it was than the first.

@@Weaverslave23 I like BoF2 over BoF1, but I remember a lot of people back in the 90's preferred BoF1 over BoF2. The main point people made was the dragon mechanic was better in BoF1, which was a valid point. The dragon transformations were near useless in BoF2. That and BoF2's unfortunate translation from Capcon USA. I actually agree with his FF preference as I personally like FF4 over FF6. The story kinda comes to a halt and becomes disjointed in the World of Ruin. Almost like it became a series of sidequests. If they had continued the awesome storytelling from the World of Balance then my opinion may have been different.

Prime 1 and 2 were amazing. They got it right when switching to 1st person perspective though I was skeptical at first. They slipped after that...

Yeah but i totally agree with your top 3 and also think that super metroid is the greatest game of all time i only ever beat it once but i revisit it at least once a year just to remeber how awesome it is

Nah, the controls were to floaty and cryptic for me, and I hated those "where the fuck do go" moments, where you had to find a little block to destroy in the huge in order to progress in the game. IMO zero mission, fusion and even other m were better.

Hey Hans, it's Hans...please, shut up. Comparing Other M to Super Metroid is like bringing a plastic knife to a fight against an Hattori Hanso sword. Saying Other M is better is an insult to the gaming industry. Yes, everyone can have an opinion...but it's a fact that there are good and bad opinions, and yours is bad for sure.

It's just as good as you said, haven't finished it It's very hard and I haven't quite get used to the controls. Right now my top ten is already made. But I'm playing games that I missed back then like Super Metroid, Mario Sunshine and Chrono trigger. Here's my top ten favorite games : Zelda Twilight Princess Mass effect 2 Bioshock Donkey Kong Country 2 Perfect Dark Killer Instinct Gold Chrono Trigger Super Mario RPG Resident Evil Remake Metal Gear Solid 3 These are all based on personal experience.
