Man. I am really, really resonating with this. Sometimes, when things are tough, anything can be the straw that breaks the camel's back. But man, I've gotta hand it to you. You're pushing through your obstacles like a champ. Props to you. I really commend you for picking yourself back up after all that and still making the effort to go back out there and get those tasks done that you needed to get done, rather than giving in and wallowing in your negative feelings. You're in a difficult situation, of course it isn't gonna be easy. But you know what? You're facing those obstacles with such a good way of going about things, that it's genuinely really inspiring. Some things to remember when you are coming to Japan. Learn and memorize hiragana and katakana, that make shopping much easier, as many products in stores like contact cleaner are "loan words" in English, but spelled in katakana, for example コンタクト　クリーナー　(kontacto kuriinaa). Second, if you lose your wallet with your residence card, go to the local police box and fill out a report. 99% of the time, someone will pick up your wallet and give it to the police. If you have ID in the wallet with your address, you'll receive a post card in the mail from whichever police station your wallet was turned in. In Japan a foreigner must carry his residence card or passport at all times. Being stopped by the police (and the police profile foreigners, some more than others, sorry to say), you may spend a long time in custody until someone brings your ID. If you lose your residence card, go as soon as you can to the immigration center and get another one. They'll give you a permit which you can carry which you can show to the police that your card was lost, and a new one is being issued, if they don't give you a new one on the spot.
