Bau=Father (but generally call 'Buwa' almost every where and it is good to address any male elderly person of father's age), Aama= Mother ( whereas 'aama' is all the same to call any old lady including one's own) Babu=Small boy, Nanu=small girl (it is called showing love for the younger ones) hey babu.... hey nanu..... Mama= Uncle (mother's brother) Maiju = Mama's wife Kaka= Uncle (Father's Brother) Kaki = Auntie (kaka's wife) Sathi = Friend (like 'k chha saathi?' = what's up friend) for the same age group.... as understanding and closeness can be used to address both elder ones and younger ones too... Dai = Elder brother, Bhai = younger brother (some bullie types don't like to be called bhai in that case saathi is good) Didi = Elder Sister, Baini = younger sister 'Feri Vhe-toun-la' = we will meet again! / see you again! (feri= Again, Vetaula is 'will meet') Yes-ko kati per-cha? = How much is this? [OR 'Yesko kati paisa(money) parcha? = How much money does it cost?] 'Has' (not pronounced as English 'Has' but like 'hush') / 'huncha' ( here 'hu' is pronounced as 'who)'= Ok (use has for respect specially for elder people) 'kaha cha?' = where is it? Yo thau (this place) kaha cha (where is)? = where is this place? Ka-sa-ri? = How to? Yes-ko (this) Kati parcha?' = How much is this? OR - Kati parcha = How much? Yo = This, Tyo = That, it Note: Always google the price first, use English to Nepali dictionary if necessary'
