Beautiful quilt❤! Omgosh, prayer and hugs to this family, my 3 yr old daughter was murdered April 19th 1995...this quilt has me teared up. What a Blessing with Beautiful memories of this handsome young man.❤❤🙏😪 your such a Blessing in so many ways.

Loved this video of "life" just happening and how gracefully you handled things. Your special project quilt definitely brought tears to my eyes especially the mention of the "you are my sunshine" song. I also sang that song to all 3 of my grandchildren. I cannot imagine losing any of my babies. It also gave me the idea of embroidering that phrase of the song on the quilt (my first piece quilt) I'm making for my granddaughter and the ones I will make for my 2 grandsons. Can't wait to see you and April together. Two of my fave quilters. ❤ P.S., can't wait to see your finished plaid Xmas quilt.

Back in 2014 or 2015, A friend from church was downsizing from a house to what would fit on a boat. She gave me a rectangular cutting mat and a few other odds and ebds. I had a lazy Susan that I bought from Ikea and asked my son-in-law if he could adhere the cutting mat to TBE lazy susan, which he did with contact cement, and cut off what hung over the edges with a router. I use it a lot when I make t-shirt quilts or when squaring us 12.5 inch blocks. And it's gone on a few quilt retreats up in the Flathead Lake area when I drive up from Missoula. I love the one you showed, but as a retiree, I make do with what I have. Thanks for your videos. They've been very inspiration me.

We had Romper Room here in Australia too. My heart goes out to you as I can truly relate to your traumas. The comment people make about your computerised long arm quilter ie "it practically does it by itself" say a similar thing when I mention that I use an embroidery machine. If they only knew .... I’m 47 and remember romper room💕I’m surprised that you left a raw edge? Will it not come unravelled and fray? I’ve never bound a quilt with cuddle / Minkie fabric before. Memorial quilts are so special and helpful to those grieving. Thankful for you being safe and that things all have worked out. Hope you enjoyed your trip.🇨🇦

That’s one of the benefits binding with cuddle, it doesn’t revel or fray if you cut it right. And then the high nap hides the raw edge. It’s a great binding for certain situations. You are so right, my daughter just twisted her ankle in her kitchen and broke it in 3 places and is in the hospital and had ne surgery, and has to wait till swelling goes down and another one probably on Friday. She has an old dog that is 16 and walks her twice a day and puts her in a cart some. She worries about her, she feeds her special cooked healthy food. She said don't be in a hurry be careful life can change in a minute. So true.

Thank you for showing the long arming work on the green quilt. Amazing how many different ways you can quilt, besides the tried and true overall (which I always get). My long armer, Linda, allows Cuddle, or Minky backing, but she doesn't love working with it. Btw, ❤ the quilting patterns and "extra" on the border- yeah, I teared up too. Real life happens. There are many sayings but I totally understand crazy days, weeks, years. Go with the flow. I have had that flexible sewing machine light and love it. Mine cane with 2 holders so it can be used on 2 different machines which is perfect for me. As I get older, I need better lighting, especially at retreats or on vacation. Highly recommend it. The memory photo quilt was beautiful. The accident was unfortunate but you got repairs and should now be enjoying your time with April. Hope it is a great week. You deserve it.

I will definitely be buying that light for my machine. I had used a different brand and it stopped working too soon after buying. I like the fact that I can look into the bobbin area too. I have a strip light I put on my sewing machine, yes it is Bright but it has a dimmer on it. There is several different levels of brightness, from dim to very bright and several in-between

Thanks for reminding us to just "pivot" when life happens, because it will. What a beautiful memory quilt. I lost my daughter in law a few years back and seeing this quilt makes me think it would be good to do one for each of her 5 children. I'm sorry you're having a week but the timing of this video is PERFECT! I'm having one too. I'm a high school math teacher (don't hate) and the 1st week of vacation my exhaust went caput on the thruway while headed to camp, I broke my toe with the cellar door, and almost cut off the whole tip of my finger with pruning shears! I made a Nancy Halverson quilt. I hand button hold stitched the entire quilt. When I took it to my quilter, I asked her to quilt it using a monofilament thread on top and bottom. She was reluctant but I assured her it would turn out great. She tested an area and used a diamond motif to stitch it. It turned out stunning and did not take away from my button hold stitching or the design. I suggest you try it on say a pillow to see what you think. I love the quilt and each design on the 12 blocks do not show any quilting. The monofilament looks fabulous. Just a suggestion.
