Wonderful transformation. Have you ever considered putting in a large island in the center of the lawn. Perhaps include on the island a large rock waterfall and large specimen palm. All with lots of up lighting. You have a great eye for design, so whatever future plans you have will be fabulous. Cheers from the west coast of Canada

Thank you. I feel one day I will end going into the lawn. It’s crossed my mind many times but for now to keep the wife, kids and dog happy the lawn will stay as it is. Well probably.

Love this video, being able to see how your garden has evolved over almost a decade is wonderful. I have a Circular garden myself and have planted up a central border this year. I still need to try and get some height around the garden, to make it more private and help with the winds. Thanks so much for sharing

Cheers Diane. You will probably find now your plants have been in a few years now they will grow really well this year. Looking forward to seeing the new border.

I am subscribed to a few UK exotic gardens on KZfaq but I must say I love your garden more than the others. The design, combination of plants is really amazing. I have been growing these kind of plants since 2010...but sadly due to divorce, then living in a new build... starting again...then moving in with a new partner... starting again 😅...my current garden is new...this is definitely the last one! I am definitely taking inspiration from your garden and hopefully, before I am brown bread, will have something nice as well. Keep up the good work

Thank you very much that is a true compliment. It’s good to hear that despite your set backs you haven’t lost the passion for this kind of gardening. Cheers.

It's wonderful to see the evolution of your garden. Both my main border are straight. I have however introduced curves into a seating area and this is also mirrored on the opposite side of the garden that has tree ferns and Gunnera planted out. The rest is lawn, which I like. But when I started this tropical style garden in my current location. I did say to the missus that the lawn will shrink over time and the jungle takeover!

Thank you. The reason I cobbled around the lawn is so I couldn’t shrink the lawn. I am starting to think they won’t be able to hold the planting back forever.

My garden is very much a Mediterranean style i guess .palms mixed with shrubs, fatsias, euphorbia, grasses, olives, brunnera, bananas etc. It has evolved from terrible grass on a slope with a subsiding patio to tiered sleeper beds and gravel. I would love to introduce more tropical plants but maybe in time. Its intense full sun one side all day and the other half is part sun but mainy shade and deep shade in winter. It is thriving though and a haven for the bees and hummingbird moths. Your garden is wonderful, a real pleasure to view 😊

Thank you. I’m glad your garden is thriving. I love seeing all the wildlife in my garden. I get bats come in every evening from somewhere local. They spend all evening circling the garden. I love it. Cheers.

Thank you. No not really. They are well established and well rooted. I feed them with chicken pellets through the summer spread on the borders and water in dry spells but otherwise they are pretty easy now. I have a video on my channel. 10 years of tree fern. If you give it a look you will get a little more info. Cheers.

I hope you will adventually lose the lawn and have the whole garden like you have at the bottom area with the different paths etc. It is fabulous! A garden you can totally get lost in for hours.

Thank you. I like the areas down the bottom but for now I also like having the open space that is the lawn.
