I followed Fuzzy’s career very closely. He was one of the longest drivers of his era, although in those days Norman was best driver of the ball in the world. The difference was, in my opinion, that when Fuzzy had a chance to win, he often won. Whereas with Norman, and all those chances, something strange would happen. Fuzzy was a helluva player, but a character. Only he can say how he felt on the inside, but on the outside he exuded charm and nonchalance. That must be tough to compete against under so much pressure. Of course he cared, but you would hardly know it. Won the Masters as a rookie with a local caddie and won the U.S. Open head to head on a brutal course against the world #1. The pride of southern Indiana. Good on you Frank Urban Zoeller!

One of the most entertaining and naturally talented golfers of all time. Lee Trevino is another one. Playing by feel instead of trying to develope a mechanically perfect swing. It proves there is more than one method that can produce incredible results.

I absolutely hate Father Time. He’s taken away all of my favorite players. What I wouldn’t give to attend a PGA Tour Major in the mid 80’s. Fuzzy’s swing was awesome to watch, but I loved to watch him putt. Also, the high collar Lacoste shirt with the belt-less Sansibelt pants…love it!!

I like You wish I had a time machine so We could go back and enjoy those Sunday's in front of the TV. I was a huge Norman fan back then but like so many loved Fuzzy, Floyd, Watson and the herd. Great era of golf.

1979. LA Open post-round. Fuzzy and his caddy, no one else around at the range. I was a teen a teen with my friend: Fuzzy told us dirty jokes and hit trick shots for us (uncanny--because of his casual demeanor, people underestimated his skill) and we were in heaven. In retrospect, it's so unfortunate that he's most remembered for the stupid joke he told, because he was such a great guy, and a far better human being than Woods the GOAT or Norman the GCOT. But real people often fall prey to the self-righteous.

With the U.S. Open officially ditching the 18-hole playoff last year, Fuzzy Zoeller's 3-under par 67 in the 18-hole playoff will stand for all time (unless they bring back the 18-hole playoff) as the lowest score ever recorded in an 18-hole playoff at the U.S. Open.

This is what Fuzzy said when Tiger won “"He's doing quite well, pretty impressive. That little boy is driving well and he's putting well. He's doing everything it takes to win. So, you know what you guys do when he gets in here? You pat him on the back and say congratulations and enjoy it and tell him not to serve fried chicken next year. Got it. Or collard greens whatever the hell they serve” facts

" "in response to media inquiries about Fuzzy Zoeller's comments" at The Masters. The statement: "At first I was shocked to hear that Fuzzy Zoeller had made these unfortunate remarks. His attempt at humor was out of bounds, and I was disappointed by it. But having played golf with Fuzzy, I know he is a jokester; and I have concluded that no personal animosity toward me was intended. I respect Fuzzy as a golfer and as a person and for the many good things he has done for others throughout his career. I know he feels badly about his remarks. We all make mistakes, and it is time to move on. I accept Fuzzy's apology and hope everyone can now put this behind us"--Tiger Woods
