❤ FAQs:
↣ Are you a full time KZfaqr?
I work full time online as a 'Digital Nomad' which means I get to travel the world with my fiance (Ed) and not be tied to living in any specific country. I do Freelance PR, teach courses on Udemy (check out my profile here - www.udemy.com/u/louisecroft/) and of course blogging and KZfaq.
↣ What does Pauper To Princess mean?
My passion is all about living like a fabulous Princess on a little Pauper budget. I visit beautiful countries, and buy fabulous clothes but I'm always looking for a way to save money and be thrifty!
↣ When did you start blogging?
I created my blog in 2012 when I was living in America. I was thrifting so much that I wanted to start sharing my outfits online and inspiring other people to look in charity shops. Now it's become all about my Digital Nomad journey and what it's like to be a female nomad.
↣ Where's your accent from?
I'm from the South of England but I currently live out of a suitcase travelling all over the world.
↣ Where is your favourite place in the world?
I fell deeply in love with Gili Air when we visited as a paradise getaway, but Chiang Mai is my favourite place to live. Plus of course, there's no place like home (Dorset in England).

thank you, this is helpful and I keep coming back to it... esp the first couple of months. I just posted my course about a week ago and after 6-7 solid months of work, it feels like a fragile time because i don't have any social proof yet. I sure hope that I find some students. right now, it feels that I never will, LOL. I have seen your updated video so I know where this goes, but its important to see your beginning actually. I sure hope to make my $40 in a month LOL but that's looking doubtful. then again, I still have much to do such as my intro video and my youtube channel needs to be updated. I'm finding it hard to get motivated tho as I feel that my course is failing. yet, i know its the most important time to keep going.

Great video with refreshing honesty and clarity. I've often thought about venturing down the Udemy route and producing my own courses, but I've heard a lot of bad things. Like how the excessive use of coupon codes means that you're likely to only get a tiny fraction of the amount that you sell your course for. There is also the issue of plagiarism, with people stealing all your course content and releasing their own course - rebranded as theirs. But well done to you - you've done tremendously well on it.
@digitalnomadgirl
@digitalnomadgirl 7 жыл бұрын
Yep - all very true!! You need to be making a LOT of sales to make it worth it as you'll typically only make about $2-5 per sale. Got a new video coming out tomorrow about my worst performing courses that you might find interesting!
@andrewmoss6449
@andrewmoss6449 7 жыл бұрын
Looking forward to that! I think some people have already suggested it, but it would be good if you could make a full course about making a Udemy course. Content could include the planning stage, equipment and software used and the production phase. I know there's a few of these kind of courses flying about, but they're not always as good as they could be. I'm sure you could make a decent one.
7 жыл бұрын
Loved it!!!! My suggestions: - Show the courses you have - Show the most successful course - Explain how you make your videos - How long does it take you to upload and release a course - And I saw names of your courses different and pictures of other people. Do you have other people making courses for you, or do you do them yourself with knowledge you have? Thanksss!!! :)

Good video with a lot of transparency. How do you price your courses? And how long are they on average?
@digitalnomadgirl
@digitalnomadgirl 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for saying! Really means a lot :) I'm going to make a whole course all about selling on Udemy so if you're interested then sign up using the link in the description :) The short answer really is that the price doesn't matter as Udemy constantly discount to $10! So I normally go for somewhere between £75-150 depending on the topic and the competitors. But honestly they almost never sell for full price. And they're normally about 2 hours long :) Are you considering making a course?

Nice job with this video! Great info and very transparent. Much appreciated. I would be curious to know how long your average Udemy course is and if you see any correlation between course length and earnings? Or are earnings only correlated to topic?
@digitalnomadgirl
@digitalnomadgirl 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, Thanks so much for the feedback - really glad you enjoyed the video! I guess my sample size isn't huge... but in my opinion the course length doesn't matter much. I aim for 1.5-3.5 hours per course and as a student I think that's what I would want. However, some courses might need to really long (coding?) but in that case I'd be tempted to split them into two! For me the topic is by FAR the most important factor. Good luck!

Have looked at udemy and there's seems to be heaps and heaps of courses on the same topic does that mean its a bit saturated leaving it difficult for a new by to make any money as there are so many other of the same courses.also are all the courses taught via video, thanks

Yeah definitely it can be tricky to find a niche. I do still make new courses so there is room for new ones - you just need to consider the topic carefully and work out what makes you different. Good luck!

Hi Pierre. Sorry that I didn't see your comment at the time! Hope I'm not too late to reply! I have indeed yes... and I intend to at some point. But it's a LOT of effort compared to Udemy. I love that udemy is 100% passive for me and I kind of think "if it aint broke!". I'm making a really nice income and I know that I could make more if I self hosted but it would be like starting from the beginning again. Do you have experience in it? Any tips??

Really excellent , well presented and inspiring presentation. You just got yourself another loyal supporters. Do you have a presentation on ideas for courses? I have a passion for English grammar and punctuation, derivation of words, idioms etc. I've lectured at a private college and one of the things my students love about my teaching is my ability to make them laugh. I would so like to contact you. Would that be possible?

Everything you add to a course is something you already know or sometimes you check for some more information you would like to add? Thank you :*:*

Thank you SO much for this video! I found your channel today and fell in love with your content! I've been trying to get into online courses for some time and had different types of experiences (with different methods). I found out that trying to market your own courses can be extremely overwhelming for someone that doesn't have an email list or a big following yet. So I decided to give Udemy a shot and as crazy as it sounds my second course made $250 last month :o I am so happy about it! Have a quick question for you if that's okay... Could you tell me what you think about being on Udemy only vs being on Udemy, Skillshare, and other platforms? I feel like your advice on "don't put all your eggs in one basket" could also apply to this? (as in, better to be in dif. platforms than one only?) Thanks so much again for your awesome content, you're a star!
