Thank you for your thoughts :) Debris is definitely a problem when you work with a router ;) but I never had the problem that it messed up the rear bearings path of travel yet. Proper dust collection can be helpful - but thats something I‘m still working on 😅 I think the build-up of debris and dust is always a problem if you work with any kind of guiding 😉 if you come across your described problem again, maybe small brushes in front of the bearings could be helpful. I will keep an eye on that though 😉 thanks for the good comment 😊👍🏼

I guess you’re talking about bits with the bearing at the opposite end of the router. Well, true 😉 they are available and suit a lot of different tasks, bt they just don‘t work that well for plunging 😜 that‘s why I came up with that idea of bearings at the baseplate to be able to use a simple router bit without bearings 😊👍🏼

😂 Auf keinen Fall 😅 nein, das ist ein No-Go!! Die Kugellager werden an die Langlöcher montiert und dienen wirklich nur als Anschlag um zB eine Alternative zum Brett zu haben 😉 so kann man aber unter Anderem auch an Rundungen oder Schablonen super vorbeifräsen 😊👌🏼

My thoughts exactly . . . @2:11 , you removed the original plastic base . The original plastic base already have the holes . Easy for you to copy to your new acrylic sheet . Why use the metal router base and use 3mm drill bit ? That's what Drew Johnson means .

Thanks for the feedback 😊 It was one of my first videos and I‘m aware of the fact that the overall quality is…improvable 😅 If you still want to build the staircase, I have another video on the staircase-build where I show exactly how to cut the slots for the steps with this jig.

Hey, thanks for your honest feedback. As this was one of my earliest KZfaq-Videos, the overall quality just can‘t compare to bigger woodworking channels 😉 that‘s something I‘m well aware of. Just to adress some of the points you made: It‘s not important to have your router perfectly centered on the baseplate, because you are using the baseplate to mount fences or stopblocks. Those need to be adjusted according to what you wanna cut with the router. The slots are 8mm in diameter to fit M8 screws 😉 just like you saw me use in the video. The length is something you can chose by yourself. Some people like to use rows of holes. I think the slots are the better option. I‘ll try to mix „better“ music in my future videos and have a better soundquality 😉 also I‘m way more confident with talking in front of the camera now - so there will be more explanation in my upcoming content 👍🏼

Like I’m multilingual I also watch German and French videos, especially about wood working and router extensions because I recently got me a Bosch Pro router that I really love. Being a retired locomotive engineer who started his professional life as a welder I come from the metal and electrics department, which means I actually have only little experience with wood working. But I want to learn because I love working with wood. There are two German channels that I like a lot because those guys tell you everything in detail, without much music. There’s also an American girl with an awesome channel. So don’t worry about music. The sound quality in your video wasn’t even bad, it was just as the first music piece started it was way too loud so I had to turn the volume down. I know, copyright music can be boring. But I guess even if you would include my favorite music, which is mostly Heavy Metal, preferably Melodic Death Metal, it would annoy me too. Well, I’ll explore your channel to find the more recent videos, and I’ll subscribe of course, right after I send this reply. Thumbs up and best wishes from Luxembourg 🇱🇺😎👍🏼
