Let’s dive into my pattern collection and get inspired! So many folks are obsessed with Gunne Sax right now. I wanted to share my official Gunne Sax patterns and other vintage patterns you can use to create a cottage core look. I’ll briefly describe design details and provide a rough idea of the alternations I’d need to make these patterns fit my plus size frame.

I made the shorter one of Simplicity 9893. Wish I had kept it. I just made it for the fun of it. I wasn't really into wearing dresses at the time. And it was an older pattern. I never even got around to hemming it. It was lighter blue grey, with white lace print. And I had blue grey pearl buttons, and ribbon. Very pretty. Gave it to Goodwill. Someone got it and hemmed it.

McCalls 4249 was my wedding dress, 1975. White velvet with white lace and blue ribbons. Lol, it was my first 'successful' dress. I forgot to take the pins out of the hem, and got married with them in the hem!

White velvet with lace sounds wonderful. 4249 is a perfect wedding dress pattern.

The last Laura Ashley pattern has just been reprinted by McCalls so you can buy it in your size now. Fun patterns.

Thanks for letting me know about the Laura Ashley reprint. I'm very tempted to purchase as it'd save about 2/3rds of the pattern alterations I'd need to do. Hoping to get back into the sewing room after a long unanticipated break. Thanks for watching and have a great week!

Gorgeous collection! Would you ever do a sew along with the 8907? I'm going to sew that blouse for my graduation outfit, and must admit I'm a little intimidated, haha! I would be INFINITELY grateful to have an example from such a talented sewist :)

For 6033 80's yes but wrong century lol it's very much inspired by much much earlier fashion. Also yes you can still buy handkerchief linen. A good one is really expensive tho 😬
