Thanks for confirming what I had thought about Virtual Bowling being the same game as Nester's! I knew it was way too odd for a system with such little amount of games to have two "internationally exclusive" bowling titles. Cool video man, I wish I had a VB.

Not a bad video. It's encouraging to know there are other people who share my opinion. While the Virtual Boy isn't my favorite system, I still highly recommend any real video game enthusiast track one down.

ive been playing virtual boy all day! i got every game i wanted for it that looked fun and needless to say it was FUN! lol i don't see why people considered this system a flop,yes it had few games and under-utilized its virtual abilities but hey its still pure Nintendo fun!

@PNI2 It really makes you think about Nintendo. The PS3 is going 3D, AVATAR is the number one grossing movie ever, and 3D TV is the rage. They gave it a try 15 years ago. sure, they got it wrong, but you have to admire how far ahead of their time they were.

I've never heard anything but bad things about the Virtual Boy, but this video made me want to seek one out. I played one for about an hour at a department store way back in the day and played Tennis and the wire frame plane one. Tennis was awesome but it was too hard for me to see what was going on in the wire frame one. I'll definitely be looking for a system now. Thanks for the review!

If you can, try and track it down for Wario Land, you would really like it buffalo. Classic platforming with some great 3D effects.

Man, all those haters trashing the virtual boy annoy me. A company should try to remake the virtual boy with today's technology. It may not result very well but who knows. Maybe they can try to add in a tad bit more color. I did not mention Nintendo remaking the Virtual Boy because I know that their patents have been expiring for some older systems.

Red Alarm uses the second D-Pad too, you can use it for quick boosts to dodge incoming fire.

The right D-pad is used in several American games, what are you talking about??? In Red Alarm, you absolutely need the right d-pad to quickly swerve out of the way of enemy fire. In Jack Bros, you need the right d-pad to quickly fire in any direction. In the japanese game Insmouse Mansion, you need it to aim your weapon.

If you like only being able to just see the game then get some video goggles. They hook up to your tv. Its amazing there great for games and movies. It's like virtual reality because you can just see the game.

to get footage ( I havent tried this yet ) tape the camera to the eye socketsand take out the screen and play it by looking at the screen

Hehehe, i;ve had this damn forsaken thing since 1997 or 1998. That was way the hell back when i was frickin' 7 or 8. My grandad got it for me at a garage sale, lol ^_^, with three games. Fortunately it was Wario, Mario Tennis, and Pinball; the one in space. Now, 13 years later, almost 20 years old this July, i STILL have it and I STILL play it... when i'm up at my dad's place, hehe. And that is not that often, lol. But anyways, i still have it not matter how shitty it is. Cheers to all gamers!

Dude I got a virtualboy, a dreamcast, a gamegear, and a steel battalion controller + game (all unboxxed but systems had nice collections of games, including 10 on the vb) all for 120$ u.s and I play the vb almost non-stop with red alarm in the dark, its just that immersive to me, i dont know, the hud, the vector graphics, i love the game.

im not sure already knew or just forgot but you said the only game to use both Dpads was the robot fighting game? But not sure you remember the 3D tetris game or not but that used the 2nd Dpad as well, but yea just thought I would let ya know maybe you could add a text annotation or something.

i dont see why people find the virtual boy gives them a headache, i have had one for years and i play it quite a lot and i've never had anything wrong.

Playing the system on your back, with the weight of the system on yourself, that's one of the key reasons the facemask gets worn down and the material starts to rip and come undone.

I got this for christmas as a kid, I liked it too, it just sucked how quickly it died.

@stlouiscountry I heard they're even putting Turbo Grafx 16 games on the virtual console. Do you know if that will also include the Turbo Grafx CD games? I'd like to play Ys book sometime. I know there's going to be a re-release of that on the DS but I thought it would be cool to play it how it was. I'm sorely tempted to buy a Turbo Duo.

Mario Clash is better than having an arcade machine. You can only beat the game with a score of 999,999! It's how you beat the game. I wonder if I'll ever reach that score. If I do, it will seriously be a real LAST STARFIGHTER moment!!

@Moogizard I don't understand why playing a vb emulator would hurt your eyes. Isn't it just like playing any other game when you emulate it? The one I have plays in black and white because the games were black and white and were only red when viewing it through the red lenses on the Virtual Boy. Do all games hurt your eyes?

I played the Wario Land game for a short while and I thought it was pretty good.

Lol - they need to re do Virtual Reality gaming again. Last time I saw 3D virtual Reality graphics done right was Sega World theme park. If they do a theme park with 3D gaming again as Sega World closed down lol a sign of things to come later after there Dreamcast console, I'd get a membership for gaming yearly by direct debit, as long as my money went to regular updated new games.

i think its because people who play them and dont like them might break or lose the game "accidentelly" and the games existince rate starts to drop and there wont be as many copies hence the expensive games
