4 broken ribs and a punctured lung was my worst injury and I’ve had my share, I was completely immobilized from the rib injury I don’t think people realize how many times you breathe a day until EVERY fucking breath is the most painful thing you’ve experienced, it changed my whole attitude for a while because of how much pain I was in and that was while on pain meds, so seeing this dude fight through all that to get his trick is just fuckin gnarly as it gets.

This video makes me want to go do the hardest trick I can think of and not give up

Nothing I have done in my life has ever gotten me as determined and singularly focused as skating. I have never done tricks nearly on a scale such as these, but I am beyond familiar with what My War represents.

I'm watching this right now with broken ribs in awe. Figgy is such a beast, the impact of a flat ground ollie right now would make me scream in agony. Dude is repeatedly falling down 14 stairs onto broken ribs, and just keeps going for it. What a legend!

Tricks come and go so fast, I almost like hearing the story behind some tricks as much as the trick itself. I liked Fallen's Road Less Traveled, that had the same feeling.

There is something extraordinarily beautiful about skateboarding. The way these people just shred entire cities using their imagination and creativity makes this sport a legitimate artform. Not to mention the massive balls it takes to pull some of these things off. God bless skateboarding.

I used to skate and I miss it bad.. obviously nowhere near pro, but I could do some tricks, it doesn't matter whos videos I see, I always wonder how many bails and injuries goes into each awesome video. Definitely makes you appreciate these guys so much more!

I got my little amateur war going on right now. I first stepped on a deck when i was 19, learned to drop in and axel stall, thats pretty much it. Quit after that. Then 2021 came, 32 years old and i got corona on my birthday (end january). Spent 2 weeks in quarantine and my condition was absolutely terrible. Little chores such as making the bed felt like big tasks, had to stop and sit down halfway because i was just tired and out of breath. When weather started getting better around May (i live in the Netherlands), i decided to check the local skatepark which had been renewed and started talking to some of the kids there. Got on the board a couple of times and realised that skateboarding would probably be a good idea to get me into shape again and build up some condition. The end of June i got my powell peralta ripper deck and went for an 8 hour skating session right away. Came home that night and i couldn't walk up the stairs, had to crawl. The next day i could barely get out of bed. Over 10 years of not doing any sports had gotten the best of me and i injured my lower back. Had to rest but i couldn't, just wanted to get back to skating and the back injury seemed to move trough my whole body. First the right side, then the left. Then my shoulders and neck and after that my ankle and knees. Skip to October and i literally been in pain nonstop since June. By now my body has become a bit stronger again and i skate every opportunity i have. Now i got internal issues. Chronic colon inflammation. Sat around at home for a month and developed hemorrhoids. Wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy. I can't wait to get back to skating again but it's as if my body is telling me i'd be better off to crawl in a hole and die. Been trying since June to land a revert to tailstall, literally dreamt about it and i just wanna get it done. Hopefully my body will allow me to do so. I know growing old is a privilege but man, it sucks sometimes.
