John Lucas thanks man! One thing to note is that I spliced into the map sensor boost reference in this video. It worked but I could definitely tell it was causing some slight throttle RPM hang. Great install video, thank you. I followed directions for the WORX intake, and it all went very smoothly. Just a quick question… You mentioned that splicing the map sensor boost pipe is working, but you experienced some slight throttle RPM hang. What exactly do you mean by this? Is it a serious issue, and does it have an impact on performance? I don’t want to remove the manifold at this point… Thanks in advance! -Murph_R van der Merwe

On my Turbosmart blow off valve I have two outlets, one on the end and one on the side!! I'm assuming that that is giving you the option to come off the end, or off the side to your map sensor, because I didn't get a banjo fitting in my kit!! I got a straight fitting and a cap screw that I assume you use to cap the air hole off that you will not be using!!
@SaltyDogPerformance3 жыл бұрын
Yes you cap one off and put the barb fitting on the other.

Ho visto molte valvole blow off perché alcune si aprono appena si accende il motore e si chiudono appena si accelera per riaprirsi lasciando il gas . Mentre altre si aprono solamente quando si lascia il gas.

Excellent video. You initially mentioned the use of 3 zip ties but at the end of the video it was determined you used 37 ties😜😜 Just kidding man, love your attention to detail as I can ralate! Just curious, why did you choose this BOV over the HKS? Thanks!
@SaltyDogPerformance Жыл бұрын
The HKS is painted cast aluminum and is not good for salt water applications. Also, that BOV is very small and the hoses break all the time on them.

Is it necessary to cut the map sensor hose?
@SaltyDogPerformance3 жыл бұрын
FITG4LYFE PR I went back and tapped the manifold actually. Using a T on the map sensor hose will work, but I experienced some partial throttle rev hang at 3k rpm. When I did the ribbon delete I tapped the manifold then. Unfortunately I did have time to get footage of that. I plan on getting that footage soon for another video.

If the supercharger clutch goes, could oil mix with water?
@SaltyDogPerformance3 жыл бұрын
No. The supercharger clutch is on the front of the crankshaft and is covered by the oil pump.

So on tapping into the map sensor... I did the same but found out from Jerry at GreenHulk the below question answered I had about tapping into the sensor signal. Always drill and tap the manifold to install a blow off valve. Never tap into the map sensor hose for the BOV as this throws off the signal the MAP sensor sends the ECU while the BOV is actuating which in turn throws off fueling. The BOV needs its own dedicated boost reference source. Just a tip cause I don’t want any breakdowns out there. I know what it feels like to be stranded in the middle of the river😏 Great Vid tho😎
@lawrencecoates62763 жыл бұрын
Thank you was just about to put my on. Seem so much easier to just tap the map sensor line.
@SaltyDogPerformance3 жыл бұрын
I addressed this in other comments. I actually rode it for a while without tapping the manifold to see if there was any issues with performance. The only issue that arose was the RPM would hang around 3k when blipping the throttle and letting off quickly. Tapped the manifold and that went away.
@rpergrem Жыл бұрын
Riva and Worx both have an adapter now that uses the intake temp sensor mounting area. Either will work good with no issues.

Has anyone had a problem with the check engine coming on and the engine sitting at high idle when tapping into the map sensor hose? Just installed mine and had all these problems when I cranked the engine on...
@SaltyDogPerformance3 жыл бұрын
Sounds like your map sensor isn’t getting enough air flow. I did have issues with the RPM hanging a little when quickly blipping the throttle. Once I did the ribbon delete I tapped the manifold for boost reference and now have zero issues. I never had the issues you are experiencing.
@joserodriguez-ej2bh3 жыл бұрын
Ok cool, thank you!! Is the rubbing delete necessary if I tap the manifold or just another upgrade that I can do later?
@SaltyDogPerformance3 жыл бұрын
@@joserodriguez-ej2bh it’s best to go ahead and do the ribbon delete while the manifold is off. Taking the manifold off is a little bit of a process. Just note that if you do the ribbon delete, you will need to add an air intake that has a flame arrestor filter.

Did you notice the BOV is open some at idle? This is not good!!!!
@SaltyDogPerformance4 ай бұрын
That’s incorrect. Supercharger blow off valves always use a light spring to allow it to stay open at idle and lower speeds when no boost is present. You have to make sure that the valve isn’t completely open because then they creates a lag in throttle response. However, it needs to be open a little at idle. If you have too tight of a spring then the valve won’t open properly. The key is to get it to open even if you only have a small amount of boost that needs to be blown off. This ensures that no boost is left in the pre throttle body side one the throttle body closes.
@SaltyDogPerformance4 ай бұрын
Turbochargers are different, but that’s because they don’t have positive pressure generated at idle because the wastegate is open. The blow off valve doesn’t have to be open because of this.
