funny story Sinatra was actually going to stop music and do something else when he heard about this french song. it was called "comme d'habitude", he contacted the rights manager and bought the rights to make his own copy of it. it was such sucess that it started his career again.

David Bowie originally wrote lyrics for the song but they were dreadful. The ones Frank sings were written by Paul Anka

Well, the genius was Nelson Riddle, who did so many fabulous arrangements for Frank Sinatra. I just transcribed (as best I could), and had fun playing it! 😉🎺

Non sa quanto amo suonare questo pezzo, non ho parole di come lo Ha interpretato, come vorrei che Lei fosse qui nel darmi lezioni di tromba, comunque mi accontento di quello che sono riuscito ha fare. Grazie infinite, continuerò nel prendere lezioni da Lei per suonare la vera musica.

Excellent, excellent job with a great arrangement! I especially enjoy your big band ensemble and how you play the different instruments. I taught students for many years and always emphasized proper hand, finger positions along with embouchure formation. I can see all of that coming through in your performances (nice rolled lower lip and firm corners plus curved right hand on your flute!). Very well done once again with this iconic Sinatra tune! I'll bet that you saw a number of excellent players go through your band program because of your teaching-congrats!

;) My flute playing is just adequate, but it's fun to play something simple and make the cover as close to the original as possible. I was always careful to put the credit for good playing right where it belonged when I taught: with the students. 😉 They're the ones putting in the time, and trying to better themselves. Nice full sound from your "B's Big Band". I would suspect this required a lot of video / practice work to make this look so smooth. Thanks for sharing. Goes to disprove those who say it's impossible to double trumpet and low brass--you just have to work at both.

Merci pour toutes ces musiques. Par contre My Way n'est pas de Sinatra. Cette musique (comme d'habitude) a été chantée par Claude François en Français puis repris par Sinatra. Merci, grâce à vous je continu d'apprendre la trompette. Yoann, un fan français 😉

I performed it in Eb concert. (F major for trumpet). The original was in D concert, which would have meant four sharps. (a bit challenging for younger players). 🎺
