...I'm a 60 year old accountant who always wanted to be a pilot (at least looking in as a non pilot - like any profession, I'm sure there are good days and bad days). I wish I could have watched this series back in the seventies. It might have made a difference!

Thanks for uploading a video again! It really encouraged me more to hear that from you. I had been thinking a lot about starting my PPL now while doing my engineering degree, it'll be really tough doing both but I decided that I will take the challenge. I have no time to lose, so hope I get funding haha. I'll be waiting for more videos!!

***** I have a question regarding getting the first pilot job. So it is very clear that due to your high intellect and being lucky, you were able to land your dream job very quickly. Here in Canada, a lot of us are taking out bank loans for our flight training but at the end, it is extremely difficult to find a job unless we have around 1000-1500 hrs of flying. As for me, I will be graduating with the training required for a CPL. So PPL, multi engine, instrument ratings. I will carry around 200-250 hrs of flying upon finishing my program. My question is, those hours are very low and with the amount of debt on my shoulder, what would you advice me to do in order to land the first pilot job. I really don't mind working any where in this world as long as I will gain hours. Thank you!

Hello Captain! Thank you very much for these videos, they really good, informative and exciting to watching! I wanted to know your opinion on two topics, one that you metioned on this video and the other is one that I was unsure off when I had to choose flight school. I am currently doing my fATPL and before I decided my current flight school I was unsure if the aviation school I choose would matter or be a decisive point when airlines hire. Do you think or from what you know does the flight school you go matter when airlines look at your CV? My second question is one that you spoke about, doing something else when your young, well here at my current flight schools there are diffefent opinions on how to get to an airline and I would love to do some bush flying or fly around islands for like a year or so once I'm done here for the adventure and experience of it, would you recommend such path or would it set me back? Hope you can reply to these questions. Thank you and hope to see more videos! :D

Just out of curiosity, you mentioned that, at the time you obtained your typerating it cost around 30,000 Euro. Do most new recruits take out commercial (e.g., bank) loans for this or do airlines offer deduction-from-salary funding methods?

So if I follow a similar program to the one that you went through in highschool, that means that I don't have to go to university to become a pilot? I just have to take these tests to get an airline job?

Can I ask how did you mange to get the money to do your type rating? And did you have to pay anything to get the licences (PPL etc.) or were they all paid for by the college?
@espanraul
@espanraul 9 жыл бұрын
So it's better to get a CPL ME/IR & then buy the type rating separately , rite?
