When I got married I had an idea of what dress style I wanted. The assistant said " can you try this one on for size " (it was nothing like the one I had in mind). I loved it , it really suited me. She smiled and said " I knew as soon as I saw you what you'd suit " she was definitely good at her job.

Brogan, you are amazing! So many women can relate to not always liking the body that looms back at us in the mirror and being uncomfortable in dresses that don't fit properly. Thank you for sharing that and being so brave to take us with you on a very personal search. You are gorgeous and this dress brought out the best in you physically and mentally. You were glowing! Oooo I cried while watching this. I got married January 2023, as a curvy girl myself, I went down the route of a custom made dress as I wanted a black and white dress, and I totally agree, when you try on a dress it's about how it makes you feel. If you feel beautiful, confident and comfortable then that's the dress for you. Sooo love your dress as its such a you dress. You look amazing and beautiful in it. Xx

I had to rewind this video back to when you tried on The dress to cry with you because it’s so perfect! When you said that you didn’t really like your body, it got me choked up because it’s so hard to feel beautiful sometimes when you feel like that. But you looked glowing and gorgeous and it was such a perfect choice 💗

My dress shopping took about 2 hours and we went to one shop. I’d just had a baby and wasn’t really into it. My mom chose the dress, I didn’t even look at any (post natal depression for you) and it was beautiful and perfect for me, sometimes it takes someone who knows you and sees you in their eyes to pick what’s perfect when you’re not seeing it yourself.

As someone who has been married almost 44 years; I was 20! I have so much respect for you both. In my experience, one of the things that can cause the most difficulties in a marriage is trying to fit yourselves into a "marriage category." Thinking that you have to do things a certain way because you are now engaged or married. I have seen many marriages fail because the couple were trying to do things the way their parents or friends had done. Your marriage should be unique. You and Benji are doing that and I think it's wonderful. I wish you both a lifetime of health and happiness.

Your dress was perfection and adding the sleeves made it even more ethereal and romantic. I hated wedding dress shopping bec I had the same insecurities and just felt miserable. I bought a beautiful off white dress with blush accents without ever trying it on. I saw the picture and loved it. Thankfully it worked out lol!! I think it’s so great how Benji was part of the process and even made comments and suggestions. You two are so perfect for one another. Congratulations!

My husband and I got married on October, 30th 1980. I was 17 and he was 19. We only knew each other for 3 months before we got married. So many people told me that I was too young. We were going to get married later then we did. We got married early because if ended up getting Guillian Barre Syndrome because of me getting a flu vaccine. Since he was in the army, and I had no insurance, we got married earlier than we wanted. I was paralyzed when we got married. I wish I would have been able to get married in my church with my pastor officiating. I had all kinds of ideas and dreams about how I wanted to get married. I had a dress picked out in my mind. My husband and I have talked about getting remarried and having the wedding of my dreams. When we got married, I was wearing blue jeans and a t-shirt. We have been married for 43 years now. We have never regretted getting married. When I watch videos like this one, I always think about how blessed I've been. Hopefully one day we will get remarried. The dresses you wore are beautiful. Both of you look like you have been blessed so much.

I had to stop and say, yes, its totally understandable the way you were feeling when you had found the dress but felt the experience may have been cut short. If it helps to know, I ended up going to numerous appointments at different bridal shops and it very quickly turned from a feeling of excitement at the experience to a feeling of worry that I would never find THE dress. For me it turned out the very last bridal shop was the best and really looked after me ( I was on my own because my family live about 4.5hr drive away, one way, and they did come to the first few appointments with me but unfortunately couldnt come to them all). They made me feel so welcome, took me under their wing and really encouraged me to take my time and come back to enjoying the process, which was exactly what I needed. Oddly enough they were the closest bridal shop to my now Mother-in-law's home so that was the only reason i thought I'd try them. Totally wasnt expecting to find the one there and yet there it was! I also am not my own biggest fan of how i look and definitely got the feeling of relief and tears and shock at feeling like 'I actually look like a bride!!'. It's such a beautiful feeling, one that everyone deserves to have. I'm so so glad that you found the dress that gave you that feeling and you look absolutely beautiful in it. Like a Princess. 🥰✨❤️🤗

When shopping for my daughter's wedding dress, we had an entire Saturday booked to visit 5 different shops. We ended up buying the first dress she tried on! All day, we kept comparing everything she tried on to that first dress. Congratulations on finding your perfect dress!

Loved this so much. Can totally relate with the experience I had. I'm similar size to you and felt like I would have to have a certain shape dress so I was picking wrong. I wished I had seen this kind of message before I got married, I spent 18 months dieting and hating myself and pushing my body to look a certain way to fit “the dress” when I never realised my husband loved my body just the way it was and i missed out on the build up to the day as I was too busy cutting carbs. Nevertheless that wedding body has gone and after many years I’ve accepted my body and I bloody love how amazing it is! You are amazing brogan and look stunning!!

I am getting married in May next year and I have put off wedding dress shopping because I absolutely hate my body and always have struggled with my body as you have mentioned, I thought nothing was going to look nice and to be honest it was the part I was dreading. I found a boutique online and ended up just booking an appointment on the wim. I was so so nervous on the day, I didn’t know what I wanted but the amazing consultant bought out a dress (it was the third dress) she did it up and wow the emotions I felt was really overwhelming. But my god I felt so wonderful in it, I completely resonate with what you’re saying about the dress feeling right and looking right on my body. I had the most amazing experience and cannot wait to get it back and fitted properly etc. Advice for future brides would be to enjoy the experience as you will look amazing in your dress!🩷

Brogan this video was beautiful, I have been married to my best friend for 20 years. I have always struggled with my weight being a size 20 I felt the pressure to lose weight for my wedding day. Back then we didn’t have social media pressures but I was always the fat friend! I lost weight and got to a size 12 I was over the moon. The first dress shop I went to I found my perfect dress and ordered it. A week later I found out I was pregnant with my first daughter Bethany. we had a long engagement and our daughter was born the end of Jan and our wedding day was in August. I had a really hard pregnancy and actually lost a lot of weight and they had to take the dress in to a 10. I look at my wedding pictures with such joy it's so hard to stay happy with your body as you grow. You both looked so happy and you will have these memories for a life time. Take care Sarah
