Retired nurse and nursing instructor here. You are doing a great job as a nursing student and I know you are excited to learn but make sure you keep all patient information private. You could just say that you had a complicated patient today instead of going through his medical history. You never know who is watching.

Hi Emma! The first semester of nursing school is so tough but you got this!! My school uses Eleseiver/Evolve like your school does and the make your own EAQs have been super helpful for studying for exams. Study guides can be helpful but I have found that practicing exam style questions over the content is what really helped me bump up my score. I’m more than happy to send a video of how to make your own if you would like, they can be confusing to find! You got this!!

it is definitely tough! and yesss I do so many practice EAQs every day. what I do is make a study guide and then I'll do practice EAQs and add the rationales to my study guide!

thank you so much! you're almost there you got this! and I work at Trader Joe's, they're pretty accommodating to my schedule but that does depend a lot on the managers, but I've been with the company for a year and some change and I made sure to tell them up front that I'm in nursing school and that is my priority so they've been pretty understanding of that:)

thank you so much! and it definitely was a challenge at first.. the start of the semester is always the hardest for me with having to adjust to a new schedule and workload. but time management is your best friend and you develop a lot of time management skills as time goes on! I plan out my weeks so that the majority of my assignments I get done monday-thursday since I work Friday Saturday Sunday (for my nursing home rotation I'm currently working only friday and sunday since clinical is saturday).. I normally work 18 hours a week:)

curious on how you add the rationales to your study guide noticed whenever i added the rational to my guides or notes i never used them

at some point im making a video on how I do this but basically i’ll take the rationales from my EAQs and i’ll type them into my notes\study guide in a different color to help me piece together information from the powerpoint and textbook! this helps me because there is always at least one exam question from the textbook (EAQs) that isn’t on the powerpoint in class!

I’m a first semester nursing student too! Are you doing ASN or BSN? I’m in an ASN program and we did a full HTT assessment for our 2nd lab check off 😅😅

i’m doing BSN! and this is our 2nd official check off, our first was manual BP. we’ve been building up to the H2T each week of the semester by learning one system per week and now we’ve finally finished learning the entire body and we have our check off in 2 weeks!
