The date is 15th August. I had 3 objectives for the day.
1. Travel on the beautiful Heart of Wales line.
2. Do some filming at Cardiff Central
3. Travel back to Shropshire hauled by a class 67 on Mark 4 stock.
All objectives were completed and my few hours spent at Cardiff Central was great as some of the trains are now no longer seen at Cardiff and some will soon be going.

Excellent video from your day out in Wales Ben, a holyday with your family i'm guessing. Considering there is no more coal traffic through Cardiff, it is still fairly busy, and the 67's make the numbers up as well as the HST's. As for the Grid that was a double whammy mate. As always really enjoyed Ben so thanks for sharing. Have a great week mate, Colin.

Thanks Colin. It was a great day. Cardiff was better than I thought it would be. Most of the booked freight ran, 67s and HSTs and the unit variety is very interesting at the moment.

Looks like you had great day out Ben with some good catches and some which have disappeared for good! but you saved the best till last with a nice bit of 56 thrash out of Ludlow tunnel.Great stuff mate😎😎 Cheers Dave👍

I just don't know how I missed this long video of your trip to Wales with young Marty, I can only apologise. There was so many highlight I think, firstly going the long wat to CF, then its rare for you to film from a train, and that was a great catch getting 66023 which I still haven seen in that livery. But the best was the amount of freight working passing through the station at CF which you did very well seeing that amount I think. Now I will witch the DY video, Mike.

Good video Ben. All that freight through Cardiff and not a container in sight.👍 That young son of yours made me really laugh at the end, he certainly knows his trains, shhhsh, shhhsh says dad, trying to video trains🤣🤣🤣. I think he is ready to start doing the commentary on your clips with that knowledge..

Thanks Mick. Yes I do love the different variety in freight through Cardiff. Yes my son seems to always forget I'm filming 😂😂 its scary what he knows for a 7 year old though 😳 although obviously I need to teach him that the mark4 stock cascaded over to TFW from LNER 😂
