I love that your gear is well-loved, simple and old. I love that you do the long distances that you do without acting like it's a big deal, and that you're doing it with basic gear. I bet you and Grandma Gatewood (first woman to solo hike the AT) would have been great friends.

Hi Keitei, Must admit from the opening shot I thought this was filmed back in the autumn but soon realised it is much more recent. You are the only person I can think of that has survived on such basic, budget equipment. Most KZfaqrs have a list of equipment costing thousands. I wish I was wealthy enough to buy you a 4k GoPro so we could see your adventures in HD but you are doing fine. I've seen you do some pretty amazing adrenaline pumping things in the past, would you consider going solo well off the beaten track in North Wales for 2 or more nights? What ever you do I'll be watching!! Cheers Graham

Great gear review. Ir's nice to see you can enjoy camping with decent basic stuff. I find myself getting a bit jealous over the expensive stuff as it's light and I'm old. Have to remind myself that as long as I'm warm and dry I'll be having fun.

Great video, Keitei. And quite refreshing to see a properly honest overview of one's gear. But I can't say that I'm not disappointed. How so? Well, you failed to mention what brand of moggy you've got. That's the most critical item in your gear, surely. 😆

I don’t think I have ever watched a gear review before, especially from seasoned pros such as yourself, where their camping equipment contained a Wilko tent! Wherein, you’re definitely an inspiration to anyone wishing to try wild camping on a shoestring budget. Excellent video!

👍👍👍 .. nice 😊. I love watching people .. what they wear under varying weather conditions, their equipment and such. Yep, one does not have to be all 'fancy pants' in order to enjoy oneself. My Gas Cooker is a 'Camping Gaz Bluet 206' Model (even earlier and more basic than yours .. I'm giving away my age 😏). Bought new in the mid-70's, it still does the job. The Gas Canisters I can still get at my local Supermarket and Cost per Gram Gas, cheaper than the newer types. Thanks for sharing .. take care ..

I was taught that to empty a self inflating mat you open the valve and roll it up from the opposite end. Then close the valve and repeat until half way or so and then reopen the valve and roll out the remaining air. It works for me - maybe give it a try. Thanks for a great video.

Do you take the Kawasaki mule as well with you?!?🤔🤣. Basic is usually a good choice especially if it can be replaced easily. Not sure about the woolly trousers 😬😆. Don’t mention the weather! It’s causing me issues at the min so I’m not a happy chappy.

I bet NO ONE in America would call that a two man tent! 😉-😉 * nudge-nudge * I can see you could fit two ppl in there but even i'd call that a one person tent!...The lighter the better! - i will def get one like that for my solo camps! Usually (for us - i'm in Australia btw) the 2p tent of _that_ style is more circular/hex/octagon and has 3 collapsible poles not 2... VERY GOOD POINT about having an ACTUAL *_WINTER_* sleeping back - as in properly RATED as winter sleepin bag - i keep getting caught out, too cold, coz my sleeping bag LOOKS like a winder one (all thick and puffy) but it's obviously NOT! Comfort is the #1 thing ppl muck up when not experienced and can ruin ur whole trip if u can't sleep well!... I always tell ppl put down 4 times as much padding under you, than you THINK you need (esp when no sleeping mat - like if you're putting down leaves or grass etc).... ↑ Comment for your algorithm + 👍 'd + *_Sub'd!_* #OldManPaxus Rating: ★★★★
