My working Rick & Morty portal gun prop

Күн бұрынThis is a prop I built for my Halloween costume this year. It's a 3d printed portal gun with a built in Raspberry Pi Zero and a micro projector that projects an animated portal on the wall.

Thanks! I used a static drawing I found on the web and wrote some OpenGL code to do the opening and spinning effects.

You should make another one and put a light under the liquid tube to make it green like in the show also add a little green rock

There is a green LED at the bottom of the tube that shines light up through the gel. It doesn't look as good in the video as it does in real life though.

I could make more but the parts alone are a couple hundred bucks (mostly the mini projector), plus a ton of printing and assembly time so it would definitely not be cheap.

@@mxlypzxyrt2022 It is an APEMAN mini projector. I think the model was M4, but the projector is still sealed inside the portal gun so I can't check, and the Amazon listing page for it was removed.

It would not be cheap; I put in something like $175 just for the parts (mostly the mini projector), plus all the time to print. The handle alone was a 12 hour print.

It is thick and holds bubbles nicely. With the green LED in it it does a decent approximation of the top of the gun in the show.
