I can't thank you enough Gagan Sir, I bought tata tiago and you saved 5,000 Rs. I actually escalated the issue to customer support and they forwarded that mail to State Sales Manager of Tata Motors. Not only dealer dropped 5,000 Rs. he additionally offered 2500 discount from dealer end and he also didn't charge hiked price of Tiago, instead went with old Price. So 1 email to customer support saved 11,500 Rs. in total. Thank you again.

Before buying my Tiago last month, visited several Hyundai and Tata showrooms deciding between Tiago and Santro. Saw these logistic charges in Hyundai as well as Tata. But when i pointed this out to TATA, they immediately apologized and decreased that amount.

As on sep 2020, Hyundai is changing handling charges and despite pointing out the supreme court order, they still want the amount. There is no way to complaint other than a consumer court

Very informative..But why can't the On road price of the vehicle of each variant( including GST) and insurance (approx range) be declared by manufacturer? Because the G S T is same all over India. There should be clear instruction from Govt of India that the Ex showroom price should be same throughout India including Union Territories...so that a customer is not cheated...

A dealer business is to sell car and make money. He can not hold the car for long as has inventory costs too been funds blocked in. Try and involve alternate dealer and negotiate for waiver or additional discount equivalent of handling charge. For couple of thousands - a dealer may not like loosing business in which he makes money on bi products insurance, finance and later on post after sale servicing. Just a right negotiation tact needed to get on to your right.
