My brother passed overseas from a landmine in April 2009. A few months later, this video was released and I’ll NEVER forget the first time I watched it. I was crying uncontrollably and now, all these years later, this song and video move me to tears. I was also lucky enough to actually visit Omaha beach where this scene is mirrored from a few years later. Absolutely eerie and a true breathtaking experience. Love you bro and miss u to this day ❤🥺

66yo US ARMY RETIRED, this band and so many others in their genre in the 2000s were more than just punk-emo-or pop. They delt with subject matter that pretty bands wouldn't. I love and hate this song- but it was a song that needed to be written, needed to be sung, and fit to a part of a military person's life the civilians have no idea about, and nor do they want to. When you live a life where death is always there, Soldiers, Police, Firefighters, you know what's real, you know what's important, and you savor every day you can the ever-present Reaper from. And if you make it out, you look back at all who didn't and at a society that never will. So many heroes forgotten for so man fakes. A talent not forgotten in a music world of today where original music is castrated by untalented performers ruining the pure form so many iconic songs were written in from 60s to the 90s. I sure miss this and so many other bands from my better days. Bless the soldier and the families that support them.

Ditto... Except female. Baggy ass jeans tho lol. Iraq, 2006. Drunk atm and all up in my feelings n shit so started listening to some old music n ended up here. My best friend and I from high school held each other like it was the last time we'd see each other while at their concert bc I was joining up to be a combat medic (91W back then, "health care specialist") and would be gone for boot camp within the month. Both of us knew our lives would be so different after I left...and we both knew I'd be (likely) in Iraq pretty soon after training. Our battalion did indeed ship out 6 weeks after I got to my duty station. We ugly cried during this song and just held one another bc she was convinced I wouldn't make it back alive. I wish I didn't. This girl (now also a grown ass woman) helped me get through some tough ass shit, both my parents dead before I turned 15... So much other shit. Man, this song hit us both so hard that night. I'll never forget it every time I hear this song. So many fuckin memories.

Dude.... What do I even say about this video and the song? The video really goes into depth about storming the beach of Normandy. It's just crazy that a band that targets the audience of teen's can just reenact something like this. Not only is the video historic, emotional, awsome, accurate and in depth, but the song is all of those things and more. This is honestly the best MCR song in my opinion.

Back when MTV was still relevant and played videos, this music video came on one morning when I was staying with my grandmother for a few days. I’d never seen her cry before but she shed tears watching this video....For context, my grandma was engaged to a man who died in WW2. These emotions are what music is all about.

To be your age when these guys were first hitting the scene was nuts. I feel old to say it but it's true haha. I'd never heard anything like them before. The 90s and 2000s were an unbelievable time for music

It kinda reminds me of that one part in filming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, where Fred dies and of course George is just devastated, but their actors were seriously really emotional because you can't just watch your closest friend die like that. Here... Choked me up 15 years ago but I was 'tough' and cold back then. This is also the first time I've seen this epic video that illustrates Soo much deeper of a message than I could ever interpret on my own...just kept seeing my grandma as one of the girls about to become part of the transition into what would become a conjugal visit, of far more savage emotions, of joy, love, anxiety, fear, pain and absolute despair, only to get a folded flag delivered to her doorstep where she and her three children live, waiting for daddy to come back from overseas....😢
