Why did the USA return the Haitians that were in the Mexican border

For the same reason they deported 2 784 German people in 2021 that crossed over illegally. Problem was the Haitians could not be deported since they were literally inside the Trump wall. Ironically Trump is mostly German.

it's all propaganda. I bet you noticed something you don't see in america... Black folks sharing and showing love for one another, we love everyone in DR, whats said in social media and in the u.s is not the reality that is lived there. If it were truly racist no black groups will ever flock there as much as they do because many of us are as dark as many of them lol.

While I am not dark skinned, i can tell you Dominicans don't care if you dark skinned. Where i live the majority of the Dominicans ARE dark skinned. My advice? Stop acting like "Americans" when you come here. Learn a little Spanish. Understand and respect the culture. And mind ya business. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Can I steal your comment to use it for ppl that don’t get it? There’s classism in DR not much racism. If you are black with money you will be treated like a king, if you are white and poor no one is going to treat you as special because you are white. It doesn’t work like that.

I’m black American and I’ve been to Dominican Republic about 7 times the only issues I’ve had was at the airport making sure I’m not a drug smuggler but with that being said the Dominicans know the difference between Haitian people and Black Americans. We obviously look a little different and talk different. Also I got pulled over by the Punta Cana police at a checkpoint. I showed them my identification . They knew I was American. My rental car checked out I was free to go with no issues so this so called travel advisory to black American men don’t let that deter you from going. I see plenty of us there enjoying ourselves. Not saying anything won’t happen because it has but for me the key is being respectful I’m always respectful to the locals there and they are respectful to me. The Dominican Republic is a relatively poor country that can barely afford to care for their own people, so why should they be expected to take in a flood of refugees and worsen their situation? Every nation has a right to enforce their laws. Too many people are too caught up on race to realize the issues are more complicated than that. The US should mind their own business and help the Haitians themselves instead of trying to force DR to bear the burden. Especially since US and Western interference is a big reason Haití is so poor and unstable.

En RD hay gente muy exclusiva que no se ligan con todo el que llega. Cuando veas ese tipo de gente entonces acepto que juzguen a RD solo por los sitios costeros que visitan. Like 85% of them are black. My wife is Dominican (I'm Mexican), and her mother is of Haitian descent. Puerto Rican Home Decor ideas -There are exceptions to everything. However, what you stated is most definitely not the norm but the exception. In general, the DR is very receptive with wide and open arms to everyone. Its people are warm and welcoming. It is one of the most hospitable countries in the western hemisphere. The issue is not about race but rather about a massive influx of undocumented Haitian nationals who are illegally crossing the border into Dominican territory and coincidentally and matter-of-factly happen to be black. That is what this is all about and what needs to be understood. Let us not confuse the issues and falsely accuse the DR of racism, which is how we have been unfairly portrayed and what has been repeatedly implied.

Do you have any idea what impact those numbers can have on the Dominican Republic? If you do the math. Haitians comprise just about or well over 20% of the population in the DR.

Haiti is a country that arose from a former illegal colony created by the French on the Spanish island, the entire island belonged to Spain, but Spain needed to have more control over its population, so it ordered that the entire population move to the east side of the island, vacating the west, France took advantage of this, and invaded that part and created a clandestine colony, this colony grew and to avoid a war, Spain ceded half the island to France, and that is how it was born Saint Domingue, the French began to import slaves from Africa and subjected them to forced slavery, torturing them, these slaves, tired of this situation, demanded their independence and in the early 1800s they proclaimed their independence, Haiti arose from there, then in 1808 an event occurred very terrible and questionable in which Dessalines ordered the indiscriminate killing of all the whites in his territory, (something in fact very racist) after that they went through dictatorships, bad governments, invasions, natural disasters, debts, and etc.

So I have been to the DR many times as a coprorate pilot and unfortunately I still have to travel there with clients. I have been mistaken as a Haitian and they (The officials) have been pretty rude to me. That being said, after watching this mess about the DR I have an analogy. Since I don't live in Florida, the whole fight about teaching black history is a fight for black Floridians. So I guess I should just travel there and spend my money in a place that does not value black lives and those of immigrants. After all, I don't live there so who gives a damn. That type of thinking is f----'d up. The fact of the matter is this... FOR ME, not anyone else, JUST ME......Any place...and I don't give a damn where it is. Any place that mistreats people of African descent, I will not knowingly support unless I am spending my money with those that are being marginalized. Any fight for justice is one that I support especially a fight involving African people in the diaspora. It does not matter to me if the fight is for my African gay brothers and sisters , Haitians, those incarcerated, dark skinned Dominicans etc. I am sure that I have unknowingly contributed and supported some of these racists actions, but once I know, I cut that immediately. So in my opinion, (I hear the words of my dad.." Son opinions are like A__hole's, everybody has one") this whole notion of ...'that is not my problem'... is selfish and self centered. I stand with any African descendant person that is not being treated fairly. Finally the issues Hati has is a direct result of the west and how they have forced that island into the situation that they are having now. It is like they (the west) threw a rock, hid their hand, and then blamed the Haitian for it. JUST A DAMN SHAME!!! SMH!

Citizenship is actually still very easy for them to get if they wanted it. This man is just wearing a suit and glasses, he doesn't know anything. Also he's passing allegorical stories abt Haitians killing finca owners or chopping arms off with no proof and doesn't even address actual documented abuses and murders of Haitians. He was very selective in his examples of so called "bad press" about Haitian immigrants , there are cases where Haitians are massacred as a result of one person's actions on his employer , there is a phenomenon where they report those they don't want to pay . Their payment never arrived and the Haitians are deported minus their belongings alot of the time . There is bad press press on both sides but you only have to look at recent us economic actions against Dominican Republic for mistreatment of sugar industry employees of Haitian descent. It's much more complicated than just Haitian immigrants taken jobs and chopping off hands.. they are used like mexicans in USA for mental labour and as a result of the pandemic slump and lack of tourism they are being deported because they are no longer needed . Just like us has their issues to resolve Haitians have their own as well and if you know anything about Haiti's politics it's no where near clean or easy to tell who's pulling the strings.

There are Haitians who have their proper documents that are also targeted. This man is saying "it's not your fight". As a 5th generation Haitian man, who's aware of Hispaniola, Haiti did quite a Historical feat to make DR possible.
