There is also a secret if you go into the hole in the wall (after collecting all 16 items I think) in the "house sold" variant. Which means buring the house, going to the airplane, dropping to a overgrown house and leaving. But that's not the ending iirc.

I LOVE Myhouse.wad. By far one of my highlights for 2023 gaming experiences. I am beyond jazzed that Lobos is playing this!

I'm only 10 mins in, lol, but I find it interesting. His style has been to literally have the forward key held at all times, never off of full-movement pace motion. Contrasts some play styles with significant time spent looking around, etc. but slow pace.

It actually got him twice, and BOTH times he was in the same room. While the sound is just timed to 10 minutes into the map. That's a funny coincedence to be in the same room both times.

i'm 11 minutes into this, and i have to say i'm having a lot of trouble keeping it together while i watch him absolutely FLY through rooms without paying any attention to the details that are changing and hinting that there's more going on. please tell me he slows down at some point.

Can't really blame him for not inspecting every detail on stream tbh. Only ever saw pre-recorded stuff with it going into detail as its not going to be expected on first playthrough. Plus, we'd just have even more backseating and impatience in chat.

kinda really isnt considering there are plenty of wads even older ones that had stuff like that, this wad isnt really that impressive compared to some wads i've played where the maps are massive with thousands of enemies and crazy geometry, people are just over-hyping this because it has backrooms crap in it in other words just another trend for youtubers to hop on for easy content

To answer in short, In the OG doom you cannot have two rooms on top of each other due to how the editor itself builds levels. It is more like building a top-down isometric game, rather than a "real" 3D map. So in theory, normally you would have the two rooms stacked on each other having the same coordinates on the creator (which, again, normally would not be possible)...but in this case they are different places altogether due to code sorcery. I do not really know the specifics due to not being a map creator, this is just how it has been explained to me, hope it can help!

Original Doom, you couldn't have one room above another because of the way it fakes the 3D look. But this is running in GZDoom, a modded version of the Doom engine, which works differently enough to allow rooms on top of each other. This isn't unique to My House, anything GZDoom-based can accomplish this, and countless WADs in the past have. But yes, this would have been impossible using Doom's original engine.

I dont dislike the mod but the more I see it the more I feel like it was pretty heavily overrated. definitely think the people calling it art are doing it because thats what other people are doing. if this wasnt a trendy thing I dont think 95% of the people interested in it would ever care

The whole sense of mystery is gone once you know all the ins & outs. That's the whole thing about this. It's best enjoyed when going in blind & following the little clues that you're given to figure things out yourself. Obviously if that's not the thing you enjoy this isn't going to be any better, but that's true for every game in existence.
