Why does no one just come out and say how Donnie McClurkin's tonal quality puts you in the mind of that of the legendary Walter Hawkins? Walter is incomparable and one of the greatest voices and songwriters of our time, no question, but if I had to hear anyone else perform his songs, it would be Donnie. He'd do each one great justice. I am born and raised here in Tulsa Oklahoma and I never thought that the Azusa conference would be the greatest conference of all time! Everyone got their start here! No one knew who TD Jake's was before he preached here, no one knew Donnie McClurkin before he sang here, and many others became famous because they either sang or participated at this conference. A LOT of people owe Bishop Pearson their careers! ( Ultimately it's the Lord's doing but Bishop Pearson was the channel he used )

Bishop Pearson was instrumental in introducing many people to the masses then & now. Thank God for his wisdom & vision. I understand what you meant by "no one" knew who TD Jakes & Donnie McClurkin were before Azusa. Yes, there was an increase in the popularity for TD Jakes & Donny McClurkin after being at Azusa, however many people in the "church" community knew who they were before Azusa. Azusa increased their popularity beyond the church. The beginning of the end of many "effective" vs. "popular" ministries was when church leaders began seeking worldly fame instead of purely teaching people the word of God. I often wonder what is the purpose of achieving fame as someone who wants to spread the good news of God. Is it because we know the world will only value your opinion if you are famous & are rich? I believe we have to be very careful because how much we value popularity. No criticism of what you said, because I get your point.

Walter will truly be missed. I sang his songs everyday when I wake because it has given me the inspiration to be a productive person. I thank him and his family and may God bless them in their time of sorrow. I play his music everyday, especially Thank You. I thank the Father for keeping me and saving me through all my hardships. As I stay inside, away from the Covid-19, I find myself saying, Thank You, Lord for all You have done for me, my husband, son, family, friends and this world. We are so Blessed in 2020. I can never Thank God enough for His many blessings.

I pray that you are doing what need to be done, and not staying in the house any longer. Only the blood of Jesus can keep you from all things. Staying at home will not assure that you will be safe. Don't let fear and panic overtake you in Jesus name.
