I'm sorry to hear what your family is going through. I can understand where your sister is coming from. When I was a teenager battling epilepsy, I didn't want to open up about the side effects of my medication, especially depression. It might be best to get her into see a therapist and have her work on being able to share her feelings so in time she will open up to you and your family. It's very hard to be a caregiver as a parent to see your child going through something as challenging as epilepsy. My children don't have epilepsy, they have hemophilia, but seeing them go through care and in and out of the hospital when they were younger took years off of my life. Please let your mother know that this is going to be a journey and not a fixed situation. It is very hard for everyone involved.
