A team of Italian scientists have found a cave under the moon’s surface. They are of the belief that it can be turned into a housing space for future astronauts. The cave is close to the place where, half a century ago, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed. Scientists say that since the space is a shadowed structure, it could harbour frozen water, which can be useful for drinking and rocket fuel. Not just this but the cave would also act as a natural protector. Working as a barrier against cosmic rays, solar radiation and micro-meteorite impacts. So it would eliminate the need for building a habitat from scratch.

Industrial mining, in a vacuum, near zero Kelvin, very fine dust, in one sixth of earth gravity. This will be almost entirely robotic exploration, I expect. Will be messy, when drilling, grinding, or blasting, that dust is going to hang for a long time in such low gravity. Humans may pull back to another location, till, literally, the dust settles.

No human has landed on the moon yet ! Technology has gone so far since purported landing and no one has gone back since?? Even today only some dust is being gathered using technology and hailed as big achievement !

Artemis II is going back to the Moon in 2025 with a manned landing around 2027 The Apollo program stopped because it was very expensive, dangerous, the public lost interest, and was just a dead dusty rock until ice was discovered at the south pole in 2009.

There exists multiple caves and craters on Lunar surface, containing minerals and liquid water/ ice sheets. Now humanity to take shelter in it and establish a permanent base on Lunar surface within next decade. It is possible only by using advanced multipurpose spacecrafts to reach there within couple of hours time in future.
