Mysterious Skin is a 2005 film directed by American filmmaker Gregg Araki, who also wrote the screenplay based on the 1996 novel of the same name by Scott Heim. The film is Araki's eighth, premiering at the Venice Film Festival in 2004, although it was not more widely distributed until 2005. Mysterious Skin details the lives of two young boys who are sexually abused by their baseball coach.

One of my favorite director. This movie came in to my life, while healing from sexual abuse. Everytime I find something new in this movie.

@@philistinezigurath1368it shouldn't, but it happens more often than you think. That's why one should be wary with 'friends' and 'family' when having children

Love the way he talks about how he has a picture in his head and making the film is "realising" it. Interesting that in other languages, the word for "director" is "realiser" e.g. French "réalisateur"
