Tbf, just learned that memories from our ancestors are engraved into our DNA, through Science they´ve figured it out (recommend you read about it, pretty interesting). So the reason ithis might help ya, could actually also be because some of your family members, back in time, went to churches and truely believed it helped them, the calmth they felt, you might be reliving that rn.

The peace that you felt, its an complex ( yet simple) state of your true unified being, with it comes a deep feeling of surrender, freedom, expansion, flow of life, power, happiness, true love, home, longing for unity, bliss - its because the vibration of this music helps your terrestrial "dream self" to sample a quality of a higher, more conscious aspect of your true being - some traditions call it Jivatma, that exist on a higher plane - or, as in my own experience a more central, deeper level - its like an onion structure, the closer you come to the central core of the "onion", the closer you come to your true self. That Individual self- true soul, is connected to a higher aspects of your/mine source being, like a branch of a tree is growing out of the same trunk of the tree. We come from the same source, same womb of the primal existence, yet we are different at the same time. Some things in this plane of existence - like music, or a beautiful scenery, can act as a temporary leverage, a vibratory kick so to speak, that give us a glimpse, a reflection of the sun in a small peace of broken glass, a sample of the real thing, Its like you smell a scent of a certain flavour, tho you haven't tasted it yet directly, you know now the smell of it, and it will guide you in the right direction of it source. The peace that you felt - is like a spark, compared to the light of the sun, but at some point, it will be possible for you to not only look into the sun, but to meld into it and not get burned by it. At some point - its somewhat similar to learning how to walk, or ride a bicycle -" the peace" that we talk about - you will be able to access it directly, without the help of outer sources, like this music, etc. And especially if there's a storm around you.
