The tri zip was designed to be opened by ripping the top open for quick access. So basically the 2 zippers open at the same time if that makes any sense. The zippers can very well handle it.

that is true, but then i still have to take another action to unzip the vertical zipper.

Thanks for watching! I think it might be possible to barely get it in there but not in a way that is secured. The lens would fall out immediately as soon as you unzip and open the case.

When you open just the top of the biopsy does the longer zipper that goes downward stay and not unzip on its own?

no that zipper stays up unless you pull on it.
