The reason why they had to start separating the chocolate egg from the toy. Was because to many kids would choke on the toy because they just ate the egg and no company wanted to get sued. So they started separating them and so far no complaints.

The novelty of a chocolate egg is appealing to a lot of children, so kinder did that. But it became a chocking hazard and it was illegal to put toys in chocolate eggs because children would eat the whole thing like Brent did (and choke on the toy capsule inside) that’s why the capsule and egg is put in separately in the box

The toys used to be in the egg. But the USA banned toys being inside food because of a chocking hazard. Canada has the toy in the Kinder egg and TSA will take them away from you if you try to bring them here.
