This is a criminally under-rated run. Hope to see Goemon return to a GDQ event soon, whether it's this or ANY Ganbare Goemon game.

The first and only time I got to play this game, I rented it, without knowing I'd need a Memory Pak to save. So, I didn't get to save, and I got SO close to beating it after a single run playthrough taking somewhere around eighteen hours on my first and last day with it. Unfortunately, I eventually had to sleep, and I didn't know how close I was at the time, so I had to turn it off. It was a fun game, though, and I remember enjoying it.

I remember those times. Best long play ever. I managed to do it in 8 hours with a broken controller. Worst thing to happen, but I was in mpressed by it

got me the same, one thing i know this game was really hard in the days back then because u not knowing what u have to do and most important the bossfights u have to play passive, it took me some time until i realised aggressive is not the way and get kill u instantly and u have to restart way back

Dude..I feel this. I didn’t have a memory card either so I would just leave the game on over night for a few days until one day the game froze at the mermaid training sequence and we had no choice but to turn it off and lose all everything. I was so upset.

My Mom rented me this game for 2 weeks from a QFC. They'd have a tall rotating stand of multiple N64 games that were for rent. I never could beat the game because I couldn't beat it all in one sitting like this guy, I had no memory card for my N64 cuz I was just a stupid kid :(( This guy brings some justice back. I wish I knew all these tricks, never would have learned the story like him though.

Mystical Ninja to this day is still my favorite video game of all time. Partly because of nostalgic reasons, but mostly cause it’s just an all around amazing game. So anytime this GDQ comes across my feed I always make time to watch it. Now let’s petition to have Konami make another, not like Mameda No Bakeru, but a real Goemon title.
