I wish they could track how many gold gyms you achieved. The fact that you only see the 1000 most recent gyms, if you move or if a gym gets removed, it goes away in your history. Long distance raid invites make it go away even faster.

As a 2016 player, I remember having to walk to battle and only Gen 1... no appraisal, no raids or events. Pogo got so boring after 6 months. I recently got back on it like July 2022 with like 5 johto pokemon. Highest combat power was like 1200 lol. With everything that's been added since, I fell in love with being a trainer again! I've been a fan since the anime first aired in America. Super disappointed when it first came out but now it's so worth it even with all the bs that happens with the game like crashes and pay to play. Team mystic since day 1! 07/8/2016

I love the remote raids. I live in a smaller town so it’s hard to either find people to raid or hard to get everyone together to do them in person.

Do one with a guy who has a PVP focus. That would be so interesting to see the differences.

I really appreciate that you like pokemons, not only for their meta relevance but also for the story you have with them and you personal preferance.

My situation was similar to his in that I downloaded the game upon release but never even played or caught a single Pokémon until June 2017. I am now level 46, halfway to 47. I’ve only completed 1,811 field research tasks 😅 with that said I also would go through periods where I would barely play if not at all for weeks or months and then come back. Just depended on the flow of life. Love seeing and hearing about other top players in the world and their journeys. Everyone has their own unique experience with this game and that’s what makes it great!

See this title is accurate, I don't think anyone should be named "best player in the world" but, fleece is definitely the #1 grinder for sure.

I totally agree about having your buddy pokemon one thats your favorite. Mine is the first Growlithe that I got in a trade. Its been my favorite Pokémon since I was a kid back in the '90s.

This was an amazing video and it was awesome to see into FleeceKings account and all his amazing achievement but there were a lot of non platinum medals that weren't highlighted or talked about and for obvious reasons but I'd love to know what hadn't been completed because if Fleeceking doesn't have a platinum on it then I don't stand a chance. I'm not getting in a hurry on those medals for sure.

Buddy functionality idea: What if for a certain amount of Km walked with a buddy, the trainer were given the ability to improve the buddy’s IVs by 1? And let’s say the Km needed were based on the rarity of the Pokémon and would multiply by 1.2x each IV gained. For example, based on the eggs the Pokémon hatch from, or the level raid needed for the reward encounter, would determine if you needed 20 (tier1), 30 (tier3), 40 (tier4) or 50Km (tier5) walked for a single IV improvement. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Charmander, they would need to walk 148.832km (round to 149) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Gible, they would need to walk 297.664km (round to 298) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Mewtwo, they would need to walk 446.496km (round to 447) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. Pros: - This would make spoofing or radar services less profitable and encourages more gameplay with the same Pokémon. - Entices player to “bond” with a single Pokémon for longer and therefore play the game more often to get the coveted 100% dex. Cons: - All players would have access to the best Pokémon if they walk enough - Pvp players would need to make sure to avoid gaining hearts walking their buddy, or not apply the “bonding” IVs earned. If you can think of any other pros/cons, reply to this comment so we can share our thoughts about the idea and maybe someone at Niantic will pick it up! Ideas welcomed and I’ll update the post accordingly. Side note: Could it be this is why Ash Ketchum’s Pikachu was so powerful? Because Ash built a string relationship with him? Remote raids destroyed my local community, im from a small community we had about a dozen loyal players who really kept it going but then remote raids happened and there was no longer a reason for them to go on the discord to find people to raid with and a discord is dead probably a couple months now since the last post in the raids chat.

People who live in urban big cities have a MUCH easier time finding everything. I always divide everything I see by 100 if the player is from an urban area to actually gauge their dedication and skill. Like someone from NYC with 3000 shinys caught is the equivalent of someone in rural Alabama having 30 shinies. Essentially if the person from Alabama had 100 shinies they would be a better player than the NYC player with 3,000 shinies.
