From what I know we believe that after death according to our karma and paap-punya we either take rebirth(punarjanm) or break free of this cycle of birth-death (jivan-mrityu ka chakra) and attain moksh and become one with our param brahma(param ishwar/param aatma).

being a doctor, I confirm that this information is correct!! All these things are made for ease of menstruation.. it's just that our grandparents have converted it into superstition than telling the benefits of these rules. If you want to follow, well and good. If not , then too. But these are for our own benefit 😊

Is following Veda's is superstition? You think you are above the Veda's? Woman get Sin of Brahmhatya for 3 days during Period which they transferred from Indra in replacement of boon to get children in 12 days of month. Anybody they touch or get near them gets Sin of Brahmhatya and nobody wants that. *Yajurveda KANDA II PRAPATHAKA V Indra appealed to a concourse of women, 'Take the third of my guilt of BrahmHatya.' They said, 'Let us choose a boon; let us obtain offspring from after the menses; let us enjoy intercourse at will up to birth.' Therefore women obtain offspring from after the menses, and enjoy intercourse at will up to birth, for that was what they chose as a boon. They took a third of his guilt, it became (a woman) with stained garments; therefore one should not converse with (a woman) with stained garments [5], one should not sit with her, nor eat her food, for she keeps emitting the colour of guilt. Or rather they say, 'Woman's food is unguent, and there fore one should not accept (from her) unguent, but anything else (can be accepted) at will. * Shrimad Bhagawatam 6.9.9 In return for Lord Indra’s benediction that they would be able to enjoy lusty desires continuously, even during pregnancy for as long as sex is not injurious to the embryo, women accepted one fourth of the sinful reactions. As a result of those reactions, women manifest the signs of menstruation every month. * Brihadaranyaka upanishad 6.4.13 : 13. When the monthly illness seizes his wife, she should for three days not drink from a metal vessel, and wear a fresh dress. Let no Vrishala or Vrishalî (a Sûdra man or woman) touch her. At the end of the three days, when she has bathed, the husband should make her pound rice. * Vashishtha Smriti 5.5 A woman in her courses is impure during three (days and) nights.[5] (During that period) she shall not apply collyrium to her eyes, nor anoint (her body), nor bathe in water; she shall sleep on the ground; she shall not sleep in the day-time, nor touch the fire, nor make a rope, nor clean her teeth, nor eat meat, nor look at the planets, nor smile, nor busy herself with (house-hold affairs), nor run; she shall drink out of a large vessel, or out of her joined hands, or out of a copper vessel.[6] For it has been declared in the Veda, 'When Indra had slain (Vṛtra) the three-headed son of Tvaṣṭṛ, he was seized by Sin, and he considered himself to be tainted with exceedingly great guilt. All beings cried out against him (saying to him),[7] 'O thou slayer of a learned Brāhmaṇa! O thou slayer of a learned Brāhmaṇa!' He ran to the women for protection (and said to them), 'Take upon yourselves the third part of this my guilt (caused by) the murder of a learned Brāhmaṇa.' They answered, ''What shall we have (for doing thy wish)?' He replied, 'Choose a boon.' They said, 'Let us obtain offspring (if our husbands approach us) during the proper season, at pleasure let us dwell (with our husbands until (our children) are born.' He answered, 'So be it.' (Then) they took upon themselves (the third part of his guilt). That guilt of Brāhmaṇa-murder appears every month as the menstrual flow. Therefore let him not eat the food of a woman in her courses; (for) such a one has put on the shape of the guilt of Brāhmaṇa-murder.[7]

Mam don't give me the tag of a misogynist but let me share an unsident of past year my sister gets upset when her periods come and, I am secretly practising sadhanas and, I beleve that all these rules for our own benefit and as, I mention about my sis so this year ,I argued he about her temple going thing without having a shower first she got angry at me and also gifted me with some slaps 😅 but when she got normal, I had to reveal my secret but it was worthit then ,I told her other safe and normal sadhanas that she can do comfortable at home in he her bed and everything got resolved. So it's not important to go temple by torturing ourselves we have to feel the devata hope this helps. Jai BHAIRAV

Every year on June 14th,15th,16th we celebrate a festival called 'Rajo' we believe that in this time Dharti Maa on her Rajaswala(period).

Jay Jagannath Here in our state Odisha, we have complete 7 days rituals to celebrate the first menstruation. Relatives and neighbors give sweets and blessings to the girl. Also there is a annual festival that is called Rajo Parv it celebrates womanhood. Girls and woman play on swings, do sringaar, free from any duty, sing and dance. It also enables boys to be educated about this cycle.

Great video, after watching this I can say that I was the victim to pcod and pcos in both ovaries, as I being from North India didn't had celebration of my rajaswala. More sad now our grandmother and mother consider not talking about this thing which was not the case in vedic times. I as a teenage with period, always said what is this and wanted to be a male but with pcod I've learnt myself with grace of God that rajaswala is a blessing which I didn't considered when I was said only by my mum and not in a supporting group. So it felt bit much sad to know now about this, but can't change the past. Also I consider pcod a blessing as it redirected me on right paths of yoga in life and healthy foods. Thankyou for enriching our minds with right knowledge. Keep up the good work.

Here in ODISHA, Currently we are celebrating the festival called Raja,The word Raja itself in Odia means menstruation, and it’s a conjecture that Mother Earth goes for three days long menstrual cycle during this period. So, on this occasion, no activities like tilling, construction or any other that hurts Mother Earth are done. It is a three-day festival in Odisha which celebrates menstruation and womanhood. In a country where menstruation is largely shunned, Raja is a unique festival that celebrates womanhood, blending rich traditions with fun and frolic. The entire family and town come together and enjoy the celebration joyfully. Here on these days, we the girls are not allowed to do any household chores instead of that we celebrate it by swinging all day, Ornately decorated rope swings with flowers and mango leaves are made where the women and children swing singing the festival songs. Yeah in this way we celebrate our womanhood ❤ with so much love , respect n care❤.

Thanks for such a Very informative video. I am a Hindu Bengali girl from a conservative family it took me years to be allowed to follow what my heart felt right. Though rest of my family still follows the conservative tradition, Just want to say that I take bath, do meditation and also visit temples during my menstrual cycle and have never felt low in energy.

They said, "Prayer is annulled by a dog, a donkey and a woman (if they pass in front of the praying people)." I said, "You have made us (i.e. women) dogs. I saw the Prophet (ﷺ) praying while I used to lie in my bed between him and the Qibla. Whenever I was in need of something, I would slip away. for I disliked to face him." I am satisfied with this explanation not because of it's deep seated mentioning in such hyped dharma but because of the rich reality it provides. But still in our country people have tend to use this as explicitly strict rules which are socially inclined. Everyone is at work 24*7 and can't be in a near state to meditation and thus going to temples or praying should be allowed mentioning the daily lifestyles.

No body checks if you're maturating or not while going to temple, but you can check various testimony of woman online that while visiting old temples during menstruation, they felt their entire cycle got disturbed. Ofcourse you can choose to not believe it, and still go, since no one really checks this, it's a social convention.

No. You are not Sanatani. Sanatani will follow Ved and Ved says Menstruation causes impurity and so woman must follow rules in those impure days. Woman get Sin of Brahmhatya for 3 days during Period which they transferred from Indra in replacement of boon to get children in 12 days of month. Anybody they touch or get near them gets Sin of Brahmhatya and nobody wants that. *Yajurveda KANDA II PRAPATHAKA V Indra appealed to a concourse of women, 'Take the third of my guilt of BrahmHatya.' They said, 'Let us choose a boon; let us obtain offspring from after the menses; let us enjoy intercourse at will up to birth.' Therefore women obtain offspring from after the menses, and enjoy intercourse at will up to birth, for that was what they chose as a boon. They took a third of his guilt, it became (a woman) with stained garments; therefore one should not converse with (a woman) with stained garments [5], one should not sit with her, nor eat her food, for she keeps emitting the colour of guilt. Or rather they say, 'Woman's food is unguent, and there fore one should not accept (from her) unguent, but anything else (can be accepted) at will. * Shrimad Bhagawatam 6.9.9 In return for Lord Indra’s benediction that they would be able to enjoy lusty desires continuously, even during pregnancy for as long as sex is not injurious to the embryo, women accepted one fourth of the sinful reactions. As a result of those reactions, women manifest the signs of menstruation every month. * Brihadaranyaka upanishad 6.4.13 : 13. When the monthly illness seizes his wife, she should for three days not drink from a metal vessel, and wear a fresh dress. Let no Vrishala or Vrishalî (a Sûdra man or woman) touch her. At the end of the three days, when she has bathed, the husband should make her pound rice. * Vashishtha Smriti 5.5 A woman in her courses is impure during three (days and) nights.[5] (During that period) she shall not apply collyrium to her eyes, nor anoint (her body), nor bathe in water; she shall sleep on the ground; she shall not sleep in the day-time, nor touch the fire, nor make a rope, nor clean her teeth, nor eat meat, nor look at the planets, nor smile, nor busy herself with (house-hold affairs), nor run; she shall drink out of a large vessel, or out of her joined hands, or out of a copper vessel.[6] For it has been declared in the Veda, 'When Indra had slain (Vṛtra) the three-headed son of Tvaṣṭṛ, he was seized by Sin, and he considered himself to be tainted with exceedingly great guilt. All beings cried out against him (saying to him),[7] 'O thou slayer of a learned Brāhmaṇa! O thou slayer of a learned Brāhmaṇa!' My dear brother I never felt too much pain during my periods nor even any other disturbance. I bath, I cook and even do Puja. Because without bath and puja My bady feels disturbed. So I do all those things which are socially prohibited but not Religiously. Har Har Mahadev Jay Maa Kali. 🙏🙏

Very Informative Video... Would like to say one thing... you have mentioned that girls should not shower/bathe during menstruations, but for me whenever i am on my periods i need to take a bath to feel clean... being clean/hygienic during periods is a must. I was always told to take a bath during my periods and then on the 3rd or 4th day which ever day period flow is less we need to wash our hair as well. Hygiene during periods is as important as in day to day life.
