I've heard other interviews. The singing voices were cast out of New York, and the voice actors were cast out of Los Angeles. They could have cast Broadway musical actors who could handle both, but I like who they chose for this show.

Dennis Taylor It's a damn shame that the movie turned out as bad as it did. 🙁 Samantha liked it and so did this interviewer in this video from 3 months ago (20th April 2018). kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bbaDnNCKrb6vhqc.html The interviewer doesn't seem to understand how much the animated series meant to us as children, teenagers and now adults, and how badly this movie was made. We couldn't relate to it as it was meant for younger people and not for the original, now older fans, despite hearing that someone else on their Jem movie review on here, saying that Jon said that it was going to be a love letter for/to the fans. Some original, older fans may have liked it, or loved it, but not many, and new, younger fans liked it, or loved it for being its own creation with the Jem names, and with them probably wondering why it didn't do well and not knowing of the Jem brand's original backstory. There are some young people out there who are not fans of the movie and they understand how bad it is, and how it is nothing like the animated series, whether they are fans of the animated series or not. I'm just so happy that some people at least, get it like we do. 😃

Everyone who saw the show back in the 80s in syndication are now circling 30 and are pissed, while the new audience it wanted to attract would rather watch actual KZfaq Stars or Hannah Montana reruns. 2. The biggest low of the movie was when the Producers told fans that they could be a part of the movie, they told everyone to make a short video of them talking about why they love Jem, but they weren't going to be part of the movie like they thought they were going to be, what the Producers did was: they took every short video from fans of the show talking about why they love Jem and then edited it to make it look like they were talking about the movie, that's just like asking people to talk about why they love Star Wars and then edit it to make it look like they're talking about The Phantom Menace, that wasn't just low, it was a slap in the face. 3. I'm at a loss for words that Samantha Newark has stated that she likes the movie. 4. I wasn't around in the 80s to see the show in syndication, as I'm a 90s kid. But I did manage to see the show on KZfaq from people who uploaded the complete series, before the Copyright Nazis found and removed every single episode. 5. The show was fantastic, it was a real show that took place in the real world and dealt with heavy issues. And an AI hologram hot chick that got her out of any situation and could alter her appearance? The Ultimate Cosplay Machine!

Absolutely Jem had thousands of boy fans. I was one of them! It never felt like an overly girly show (even though it was) cos of all the action scenes etc. I was never ashamed to tell my classmates that I loved the show. Of course the girls in my class were fans but the boys also thought it was kinda cool and didnt think it was weird or inappropriate for a boy to watch it...probably because the The Misfits were such badasses

Jem-Kimber-Aja-Shana Sadly the actress, Thuy Trang, who played the Power Ranger in the yellow suit, Trini Kwan in the first series of The Power Rangers, died in a car accident on the 3rd of September 2001, in San Francisco, California, at the age of 27. So sadly, she never got to meet any fans at any conventions later on. 🙁

I know. It is such a damn shame. Sometimes I do feel sad about it. 🙁 I wish the movie was done properly and not by the producers, Jon M Chu (who directed the movie as well) Jason Blum, Scooter Braun, and scriptwriter, Ryan Landels. Jason's production company, Blumhouse Productions was also linked to that movie. I heard more recently that Jon M Chu, despite how well his recent movie adaptation of the book, Crazy Rich Asians was, and despite some scandal and tactics that he used in that movie, which he used for the Jem movie, he apparently fundraised the money himself and not from Hasbro nor from Universal. Jason Blum apologised this year about how bad the movie was, which is nice to hear, but it is too little, too late, which doesn't make a person feel any happier. These people never learn, so I give up with idiots that always ruin things and walk away from them for good. Christy Marx who co-created and co-wrote the series (posted the news on her Facebook page, Christy's Clubhouse) was happy that he had apologised. She wasn't keen on the movie as it didn't feel like Jem to her either, and I agree. She even said that this year in an interview with Michael Mercy on his nostalgia channel. All of us Jem fans would have loved the movie if it had been done right, especially with Christy Marx at the helm. It would have been shown all over the world after it would have done so well in America and Canada, and the DVDs, Blu-Rays, steaming, and downloads would have sold like crazy. 😃

Summer21 Sorry that doesn’t work for me. Samantha Newark was being a phony in acting like this movie was gonna be some exciting fun filled masterpiece. She knew it was a piece of crap, though she’ll never admit. I have yet to see one single fan admit to actually liking this piece of crap. I would respect Samantha a lot more if she were to say hey all you Jen fans I know the movie was THAT bad. This wasn’t what I expected either. Even the writer for Jem, Christi Marx, who hasn’t exactly trashed the film has gone on record in making it very clear to jem fans that she had absolutely nothing to do with this film and was not consulted in any way which I took as a hint as don’t blame me for this gross movie. Such a shame the movie was what it was. It had the potential to be something amazing. It would have maybe even resurrected jem and may have been the first of more sequels and maybe a new animated show but when the film flipped Jem came back from the dead only to quickly die again.

The only good part was when the misfits showed up at the end. If that a hole John Chu has half a brain, they would have been an even bigger part of the movie. I think most Jem fans I’ve spoken to have said the same thing- they watched and loved the show more for the craziness of the misfits and loved their songs. That they weren’t wimps like Jem and the holograms should let everyone walk all over them . The misfits didn’t take crap from anyone and in all honesty I think were better role models than wimpy Jem and the holograms. Look at how Jerrica has no problem allowing rio to cheat on her all the time with Jem? They like to say it didn’t bother her since she was Jem but he never knew that and that was ok with her?
