Thank you for your help first of all. For us new people that want to do this I was very disappointed when you explained first they draw their design....then said they Do A Mockup. I was hoping to learn the actual process. Do they use Adobe Photoshop? How do they find the actual color of the lettering and design of the lettering? If you guessed I know next to nothing about this process you'd be right.

You can take a picture of the design from your phone or camera and then load it into Illustrator to finalize it. If you have an iphone you can "airdrop" the photo to your mac computer. Otherwise, you will have to use your phone's cord to attach to your computer and transfer the photos to your computer and then load the file in Illustrator (assuming you have it.) Photoshop is used for for photo editing and Illustrator is used to "create" graphic items - logos, designs. You will need a person that knows Illustrator to "clean up" your hand drawn designs. Hope that helps.

Which POD will allow me to send them a specific style and shape of hats to print on? I don't like most generic hats they are using to print. The blank hats that all POD companies are using are the same. And I don't want that.

Your kids are adorabrats...but probably not brats though, right?! 😂 I'm sure they're smart! Anyway, I have looked into Custom Cat based on recommendation of someone already using it. Set up a website with own domain, got one design made, but haven't progressed beyond that. It is a WordPress site and I have a plug-in that lets me know if anyone is trying to hack into it. It's crazy the amount of attempts and it's still going on even though I disabled the website till I'm ready to get going.

I don't suggest the manufacturer doing anything direct with your client, unless you trust your manufacturer explicitly and blindly. Because the manufacturer can easily deal with the client direct for any orders in current time or future. How would you guarantee your commission? You can't. It should always go through you is my advice. If your manufacturer will have your back no matter what, then yes, sure go right ahead and do this. Just my 2 cents so you can be protected and you don't lose out on the money that is rightfully yours :) God bless you. @Toree Tribe

Can I do POD and fulfill certain products on my own? With Shopify? Again, I want to start a t-shirt design business using POD. At the same time, the specialty hats I want to fulfill them on my own.
