Absolutely fantastic build, 3d printing is definitely a learning curve, and you will only get better. No stopping you now!

Hi Ben, fantastic modelling of the warehouse, always like to see modelling of actual buildings and scenic locations! Cheers Gary

Cheers Gary, yes it was an interesting project, its fun what you can do 3d printing eg windows which would be hard to make otherwise or expensive to outsource.

Hi Ben - excellent build on the warehouse- amazing what can be done with 3d printing. Enjoyed seeing the trains running as always plus a bit of a respray for a class 60 - your certainly a man of many talents 😊 cheers Euan

Cheers Euan , yes would definately recommend a 3d printer for our small scale though resin is foul stuff.

Super job mate, looking good my friend you mastering the whole scratch build with efficiency! Cannot wait to see it in real life once you finished it man.

Cheers Dave yes it was fun and a challenge with the 3d printing especially, your welcome to come out east and run some Euro trains again sometime doesnt need to be finished, might get some more buildings on though.

@@staffordstationngauge8359 I have the builders coming in October whether they get the work done I will wait and see man. Also found out I need the windows replacing throughout, so that means another delay...! Windows getting fitted in April 2024 so hopefully my build can start after next summer. Time flies when your not having fun right?

@@ngauging sounds like youve got things moving though, will give you plenty of time to get your stock together and iron out your board designs and track plan mate.

Hi Ben - What a brilliant update, enjoyed every minute of it. Loved the warehouse build, very enlightening, not so sure about the 3D printing though. The build has certainly made me rethink how I will in future put my buildings together apart from the 3d printing, too old for that now. Regards Chris

Cheers Chris glad you enjoyed the build, im not sure how I would have done certain bits without 3d printing now, yeh continue to scratch build mate.

Hiya Ben , What a great and interesting project and one building i will have to have a look at ( Funny enough i am in stafford at the weekend at an exhibition 😎) will have o invest in a 3D printer a some stage . The CAPPAGH 60 looks great Railtech transfers i am guessing he GBRf blue is a great shout might have to give that a go at some point but i currently have my eye on a DCR grey class 60 to go with my GRID Thanks for sharing and looking forward to seeing STAFFORD ( Was going to get my notebook out and start spotting !!! ) progress

Cheers Andrew, investing in a 3d printer might be worth it, bit of a learning curve but the fact that you can make anything you want is great, also suits our tiny n gauge, yes Railtec transfers though some came off and had to be stuck back on. You might just spot the warehouse from the platform, have a good time in Stafford.

Great build and got me thinking about 3D printing! Still really enjoying the amazing ‘concrete’ sleeper point work. You mentioned you sprayed yourself but how did you do it without spraying the rails themselves?
@staffordstationngauge835910 ай бұрын
Cheers, have a go, I sprayed over the whole point, just clean the rail heads afterwards. And mask off the end blades.
@djle_harv10 ай бұрын
I am a ways off from a layout myself but this technique is giving me ideas! I presume you can then weather the rail sides as normal after spraying the sleepers?
@staffordstationngauge835910 ай бұрын
@@djle_harv yes just painted the rails using a brown rust colour.
@nmah28836 ай бұрын
Hi how do you paint your pointwork to match the concrete track? Many thanks
@staffordstationngauge83596 ай бұрын
I airbrush the sleepers with Humbrol 121, I would advise not to hand paint it as it takes a lot of coats to cover the brown plastic.
