Thank for all the comments, y'all. This is James the filmmaker, it was you all that gave me the heads up they inadvertently chopped a bunch of the audio. It wasn't Stash, it was KZfaq's good old AI not knowing I had licensed and purchased all of the music for this film. I apologize for the issue but Stash was great in helping get it fixed and now it is all up in its entirety. Enjoy!

Thanks for making this. A great insight into mostly unknown history. It left me wondering what happened to John OShea? He came back a year later looking worse for wear then died within the year after that? Incredibly sad, was great to see him and Doug reunited.

@@robertcrystals Thank you. If you watch it again, as a lot of people are inclined to do, you hear John projecting through the whole film, everything he says, he's speaking about himself.

Watched a bit further and it looks like John has joined Doug on the pipe......I may be wrong but I know what that shit can do to people's appearance in a very short amount of time,Sad i hope I'm wrong.😢

Congratulations on putting together such a fine documentary and a great tribute to John. I started skateboarding when you swiped a steel wheeled roller skate, tore it in half, and nailed it to a 2x4. Pebbles, cracks, and twigs would put you on the ground! I graduated to clay wheels and laminated Hobie/Vita-Pakt skateboards. I got hooked again at 25 with an NHS deck, Bennett trucks, and urethane Road Rider 4s. Banks, street racing, pools, pipes and the new skateparks fueled me until my knees finally gave up on me. BUT.....My kids got raised surfing, skateboarding, hunting and fishing.... and my Grandson loves riding between his Dads' legs just like my boys did. Nor-Cal skating will never die!

I am a 60 year old man from Tennessee and started skateboarding in the mid-70s. My dad had a skate shop until the early 80s. I always bought the skate mags and couldn’t wait till the next issue came out. We didn’t have any parks close to where we lived but we built our own ramps and would travel 3-4 hours to skate at parks in other states. I of course knew about the Z-boys and Dog Town but never knew anything about the N Men. I am glad to find this information because I pride myself on knowing skateboarding history. It’s to bad the N Men didn’t get Recognition in the magazines back in the day. At one point in time even here in Tennessee we had a group of guys that could skate pretty dang good and probably a lot better than people might think. We had a few pools every year that got emptied that we skated until the cops were called. I feel like you have to get to a certain level of skateboarding to really really appreciate it and the history. Thanks for the video! 🤙🤙🤙

Thanks Ron Camron for mentioning my name. I would have thought at least one still shot of me. Sour grape’s. It was cool to see my old friends and learn of riders I never heard of very cool. Fix the audio it cut out five times, I didn’t get to hear a word Pokey said, that was the biggest bummer. I give it six stars out of five. -Gumby

Hey James, thanks for the awesome documentary. Growing up in Australia and starting skating in the early 80's in a town called Albany with one of the oldest skateparks in the world that is now heritage listed I feel blessed to be a part of the world community of skaters who only know that feeling. I had never heard of the N-men but a big fan now, thanks for your perseverance with such a great film.

Wow. Havent heard these names in well over 30 years. A kid from Sac-town moved to Long Island where i'm from, in the very early 80's . 80 or 81 I think, he saw us skating a half pipe one day, actully he just saw a skateboard in the air(no human attached to it) over the 10' fence as he was driving past with his mom. He knocked on the gate after begging his mother to turn around, and you could just see how stoked he was to find some of his own in a new section of the world. We hung out quit a bit after that , and he took to that 70's style death ramp like he'd been skating it his whole life. Absolute ripper, and it was through him where I learned of the legend of the N Men, as we would always pester him to tell us more about California, back then the dream was still alive and well, and thats where we all wanted to go. My how times have changed haha. Sadly his mother got fired from her job after a year, they packed up and went back to Sacremento.Even worse, I cant even remember his real name, we just called him Stymie, cause no matter what trick we pulled, he would drop right in and do it 5 times better, with way more style...Stymied again!!
