Hey Mike, the junkyard looks great. That section is coming along nicely. There's always something to do on a layout. I completely sympathize with you about your hip. I have sciatica in both of mine and there's days it hurts too bad to do anything. Good luck fixing the lights. Until next time, happy model railroading.

Dear Mike, very cool shots from the scrap yard! Love the way it now fits the space. Plus how it draws the attention, before the eyes fleet off into the engine facility or the backdrop. Excellent configuration for the relatively small space. Get the idea of the location for the railroad scrap, might be a bit too much though. Maybe some engine rebuilding projects on the back burner would be a good idea to replace the junk with. Very cool to see how you did the sanding tower. Very nice tweak to make those hoses hang down and straight. Also, that rod connection between the tank and the distribution arm is a pretty nifty solution, especially on such a small model. Still think the engine facility needs a service road into the east side of the town. In humble spirits I’m sort of visualizing an end of area look, might just further improve the transition between yard and engine facility, as from the tracks to the scenic part, plus geographically or topographically tie the city to these parts of the tracks. Curious for the tree planting, plus further development of the engine facility. Take good care of your knee, busy bee. Cheerio

Mike , I know what you mean about the pain . Your junk yard is fantastic . I've had a knee replaced and a back surgery . That and being 90#'s over weight is ruff getting under my layout . Oh , and being 75 yrs old , who ever said these are the golden years needs to be slapped . Keep up the great work and take your time .

Hope you had an enjoyable 4th Mike. I know it is hot there, but it is HOT here in Sacramento. Haven't worked on the layout in the garage for a week now as it has been over 106 every day. 113 yesterday. Only 107 predicted today. I digress, the junkyard looks great, just like my neighbor's backyard. Keep up the great work. -Ron

Looking good. Thanks for the info on the scrap yard. I look forward to your tree plantings. It’s so expensive trying to represent a forest. Happy belated Independence Day. I hope your hip eases up on you. Getting old is not for the faint of heart. LOL. Take care.

Hi Mike… the reconfiguration of the junkyard and all the buildings on the return loop end looks fantastic as does the entire layout. I know what you mean about the leg, I have been having the same problem. Not sure if it’s sciatica, hip, or what . But I have slowed up and stopped working under the layout or stretching across my layout as well. Sleeping has been the worst. Hope yours feels better soon……. Joe

Hi Mike! Long time no chat. Your scrapyard looks really good. Behind there, I noticed that you're using Peco track instead of KATO UniTrack. When and why did you start using Peco track on this layout? Take care buddy. -from Tom Pilling

I am not using it insted, I am using it with Unitrak. It is used so all the buildings do not have to be raised !!
