Veljko Pejic Hello! This man in the video is called Solomos Solomou. He was a Greek Cypriot protester who was killed by the fascist turks called Grey wolves as he tried to remove their fake flag in Cyprus. Two days before the grey wolves had killed his cousin Tasos Isaak who left behind his pregnant wife. None of the murderers were ever arrested. All these happened in 1996 and since then both of them are considered heroes and many songs have been written for them. Dobro jutro from Thessaloniki

I am from Turkey. I have always criticized "Grey Wolves" and their related party named "Nationalist Movement Party" severely. I also do not welcome the Solomou and his cousin's death. I was really touched when I had watched the funeral of Solomos Solomou. His lovers' sadness was full of emotion. I am really sorry for the events that happen in 1996. However, lowering of a country's flag is not heroism. There are famous events during our war of liberty. After the defeat of Greek Army, Mustafa Kemal(founder of Turkish Republic) was wandering at the battlefield with his officers, he saw a Greek flag on the ground. Then he ordered to take it away because he couldn't stand to see it there. The reason is none of the nation's flag deserves to be laid on the ground. Moreover, Mustafa Kemal was requested to walk over the Greek flag while he entered a building in İzmir, but he got angry and refused because he knew it was the nation's symbol of honour although its soldiers were occupants. That is respect and how a country leader should behave. I think a country's politics should be protested in a reasonable way. Humiliating a country's honour by lowering a flag is unreasonable.

@@christoskynigaris2998 I expect both nations should manage to live together in peace on the island. Cyprus does not only belong to Greek people. There are also Turkish majority and they can't be ignored. I prefer neither North Cyprus nor South Cyprus. Unified Cyprus, which is cleant from national prejudice and hate, should be established. Both nations should live with their culture freely.

@@christoskynigaris2998 There are more Greeks than Turks but that doesn't mean Turks have to be swept away from the island. In Turkey, there are also many Greek originated people but we don't discriminate each other. Yesterday we drank rakı by listening to Greek and Turkish music. We had great time because we respect each other. People like you should do the same thing.
