N&W 611 on the Blue Ridge Grade

N&W 611 pulls The Powhatan Arrow up the Blue Ridge grade on May 7, 2016 on its return from Lynchburg to Roanoke. I may have gotten a little too close for this one.

these machines have an aura about them. They just give you a sense of raw and immense power that gives you goosebumps.

Remember, this ole girl is the work horse of the rails! She pulls a diesel simply because AmTrak doesn't believe she can haul the mail.....BS.....she's a great engine

Паровоз фантастический !!! А путь, похоже, не выправлялся давно. Состав идёт " гребнях " . Происходит активная подрезка гребня колëсной пары и головки рельса. И в воздухе , радугой висит , металлическая пыль, а щебень внутри колеи весь ржавый.

If you look closely, there is a cover underneath the bridge preventing people from getting blasted

Yet another ‘could have been’ amazing video that fails to turn and follow the massive engine as it goes by down the line, instead lamely fixes on the rolling stock. Why?
