N&W 611: The Virginian and The Blue Ridge Special

8 жыл бұрынOn April 9th and 10th, N&W 611 led her first excursions of the year to Lynchburg, VA and Asheville, NC over two Southern Railway routes. Both trips departed from Spencer, NC. We caught the J at several locations including after dark on Saturday. Thanks for watching!

Well if I lived in West Virginia or around there I probably would have gotten to get on the excursion for my Birthday(April 9th, 2005) but I live in Oklahoma where we don't get shit.

On the 9th of April 2016, Norfolk and Western #611 powers the Virginian Excursion from Spencer, North Carolina to Lynchburg, Virginia and return over the Blue Ridge Mountain, then the 10th, The Blue Ridge Special from Spencer to Asheville, North Carolina and return. Behind 611 is Norfolk Southern Heritage Diesel #8099 and Southern FP7 Diesel #6133.

why does it look like there are plastic bags (or something) hanging out from under some of the passenger coaches? I saw three or four of them.

+wobblinwheel One of the freights that went by had a lumber car where the plastic tarp was dragging. I assume when it reached the siding where it met the excursion train, the tarp ripped off the lumber car and got picked up by the coaches.

Ok. Cuz the videos look very nice. Might think about getting that camera. it is very good with nice crisp videos

+BirminghamRails Thanks John! It was an incredible trip. One of my favorite videos of 611 is a night clip from the 80s or 90s so I wanted to get to see her at night.
