This is how you know Karen Traviss left the franchise after Gears 3. I preferred her rendition of Aspho. The battle for the facility was quiet. What Marcus did in the fields was LOUD and totally worthy of an Embry Star.

If they did that, it'd be too close to Call of Duty. The Locust are what make Gears more unique from other shooters. But I'm willing to bet that a good chunk of E Day will have the Pendulum Wars in it

@@rex117captain8 Not really. What makes Gears of War unique is its fictional world with fictional histories, countries and weapons. The Pendulum Wars isn't some small conflict but an 80 year long war between the COG and UIR. They could explore the origin stories of characters like Victor Hoffman, Tai Kaliso, Adam Fenix and even new characters like Helena Stroud (Anya's mother) or Bai Tak (Pesanga Volunteer and close friend of Hoffman) - exact same way that Gears E-Day will explore the origin stories of Marcus and Dom. There's so much to do with the Pendulum Wars. Want to kill only Locust? You have over 4 games and soon will be having 5 games plus a complete DLC where you can do just that. Some of us are massive lore nerds who want to finally play a game set in the Pendulum Wars... Arguably the most important war in the history of Sera as that war and discovery of Imulsion is what led to the Locust War.

The one thing I never got was why wasn't the lambent in the final fight? Why were the Hammer Strikes that destroyed the face of Sera never mentioned? Those I think were two very major important events in the Locust War

Ez, Governmental propaganda. In GOW3 the COG high elite hid the fact there were underground species and also made the hammer strikes despite knowing most of humanity couldn’t reach shelter. All these COG mistakes would destroy their rep for the future so what better way than to LITERALLY rewrite history.

I would imagine information on the lambent is pretty strictly controlled due to how dangerous it makes (made) emulsion, and how it would reflect on the sacrifices made in the pendulum wars. Also the hammer of dawn being used to destroy most of the planet was definitely omitted as a particularly dark stain on the COG's already questionable history.

@@Artifex_Prudens the monsters are just half of the lore. And in the end all they did was turn into bigger badder monsters. Show us a story we haven’t seen yet. We know a locust battle. Whats a pendulum battle like?
