HAWAII TRIP 2022
Day 2: Aloha! This is the highlight of my trip to Kauai. The tour takes around 5 hours. I try to record everything using my 360 camera, I capture a lot of beautiful and interesting angles. They took us thru the sea caves and gave us an hour for snorkeling and lunch. They provide deli lunch, snacks, drinks, and snorkel equipment. The crews are very nice and informative. highly recommended.
After the tour we had lunch (again) at some local restaurants before we continue our trip to Waimea Canyon. stay tuned!
Makana Charters.
Type of boat: Na Pali Kai III - 49-foot catamaran, up to 32 passengers.
Cost: Adult $169pp, Children $139pp.

What camera did you use for underwater? If phone, which case did you use please?

What time of day did you do? And was it choppy on the way there and back?

I took the morning trip, and the water was pretty calm, I heard the afternoon trip was more choppy. I recommend going in the morning, the water is clearer for snorkeling. And you have plenty of time after the tour, you can visit Waimea Canyon while you are in the area. Hope that helps.

I'm assuming about an hour for snorkeling? So 4 hours of the boat moving along the coast? That's it? Seems long for just that?

Correct. It takes 1.5-2 hrs from the marina to the napali coast and another 1.5 hours back to the marina. It seems like a long trip, but trust me, you'll enjoy it. The boat has to cruise slowly in every cave (that takes time too). The view is amazing, and a 4.5-hour trip goes by so fast 😊

Hi, I'm a 61 yo female and not in the best of shape. Not in the worst either. ;) Is this a strenuous boat ride? I just booked it for mid-August and want to be sure it's the right fit for me. Appreciate any response! Mahalo.

I think this boat is the best choice for you. The reason I chose this boat is because I brought my 6 years old daughter with me. The ride was pretty smooth (I took the morning ride). I'm pretty sure you'll be alright. Have a nice trip!

What time did it departs the boat?

@kaymagno23 they have 2 trips in a day, I believe. One in the morning, around 8 a.m., and one in the afternoon around 2 pm. You can check their website. But I suggest you take the morning trip the water is calmer and you have more time to explore the island after the boat tour.
