What happens when a wife lies to her in-laws that their son has got a job, when in reality, it is she who goes to office, while her unemployed husband manages the household? The story tells us about a newly wed couple, and how they struggle daily, to combat the frustration of unemployment, breaking the stereotype of gender bias.

Finally the man tells his mother the truth that it is he who is jobless,and all the tension between them goes away as the exhaust fan is shown moving(just like hot air goes away through an exhaust fan).

I think the message goes like this. The story started with the problem of the exhaust fan. Accordingly, the main problem of the couple was not the joblessness, but the lies that they made to their parents. As soon as he spoke the truth, the burden vanished, that became symbolic in the re-functioning of the exhaust fan.

This is my story, and we have not told our parents yet. I have not got a permanent job for last four years. My wife earns and and I manage household work. We dont have a maid or cook. Our parents visit us and stay for one or two months. Those are very tough days because we lie to our parents looking right into their eyes. My wife thinks parents are so conservative, especially hers, that they will not be able to digest the truth. I dont know our ending yet. But I will surely post on this video once we untangle everything. Thanks for the video, I will cry the whole night without my wife realizing.

I see the females gloating about this. Not every female is that perfect as it is shown here and at the same time not every male is as bad. But as a female you don’t understand the mental torture males going through for not having a job. Again just an FYI my wife is hardworking and spends every minute of her time at work. She is good in some things and I am good in other things. On this story he is not able to fix the electricity due to the pressure he is going through in his mind.

Naariyal ke ladoo is a metaphor used to indicate importance of feminine energy in maintaining harmony in relationship and for gaining success in career, job, improving flow of money in and maintaining good health. Sadhguruji has beautifully explained in following lines: It is very essential that we celebrate the feminine. This is not about woman, this is about the feminine energy. If you want to use an analogy, if you call the root the masculine, the flower and the fruit is feminine. The very purpose of the root is to bring the flower and the fruit. If that does not happen, the root will go waste. Survival by itself does not take care of everything. After that, the finer things in life have to happen to you. If the feminine does not become alive in you, whether you are a man or a woman, the finer things in life will never happen to you. All your life, you will only think survival - endlessly survival. You will only make survival increasingly difficult. This is the very nature of the masculine. The masculine is always about conquering something. The feminine is not about conquest. The feminine is about flowering, relaxing, and living, not about getting. This shift has to happen.

You must understand that this mom's sole achievement in life may have been giving birth to her raja beta. Now he is jobless and a househusband, no better than a girl (orthodox thinking) and the bahu is earning. So the mother's whole achievement at giving birth to son in the hope that he will be a kamau beta is gone. Typical mothers of sons get enormous pride and power from the salary of the sons. Woh bhi gaya. No wonder she confesses a lie would be better.

The ending is not abrupt. The function of an exhaust fan is to clear the air and prevent suffocation. Since the guy told his mother the truth, the exhaust fan also worked at the same time thus, signifying that the suffocation due to their lie is not a burden for them anymore.

The husband's frustration is natural, for as shown even his Mom can't understand his predicament... but he is at least trying to step up into his new role. His wife is amazing. She keeps up pretenses in front of her MIL, plus she speeds up her office day and gets electrician (n adrak :))... A nice slice of life story. N as far as the Mom's attitude, this is the reason why our country isn't progressing. Women n esp moms of sons are the ones who oppose the changed roles.

I dont think its a good idea... for every men.... what if he comes into a situation where he has to given a medical support to his parents & if his wife refuse to help... so it is not a good idea to be dependant... and it apply on both men and women... and fun fact is no women want a jobless bridegroom....

That's how sons are.. They claim. They love their mothers but some things like repairing an exhaust fan so that the mother doesn't get suffocated in the house for those three days won't strike.. But they want their mom to be comfortable and be respected.. When they are totally oblivious to basic needs of their mothers

Well, all acted good. It could be good if a story could be bit extended where Mom finally accept the role reversal realizing the 'need of time'. Indian society is Patriarchal and specially when males are taught that females should only do household stuffs, it's natural to not accept changes otherwise.

No, generally household problems related to electricity or plumbing is considered a man's job to fix. But here the woman takes care of it as well as also makes money ( which is also considered a man's job) while the man here does all the stuff which is generally considers is a woman's job like cooking, cleaning, laundry etc. It's all about breaking gender roles. I really liked the concept but there was no clarity in the story neither did it reach to any conclusion or maybe I just didn't get it.

The message is that as they kept thinking that the fan was faulty but actually the wire was faulty. Same was the case in their lives, they were thinking that the problem is man's joblesness but actually the problem was that they hide the truth from their parents.

In time, the mother will come to terms with it. I think it's good that the son himself told his mother the truth. If she'd come to know the truth from someone else(including the wife), it'd have been very hurtful for the mother. And after all, it's not like the son is not trying to land a job. If he has any qualifications at all, sooner or later he'll be able to find a job that he's good at.

I understand the situation of this character. However, nothing is permanent even joblessness. Things do change.
