Nabowwat and Risalat ( نبوّت و رسالت) are fundamental concepts in Islam related to prophethood and the delivery of divine messages.
1. Nabowwat (Prophethood):
o Refers to the institution of prophethood, where individuals chosen by Allah (God) receive divine guidance and communicate it to humanity.
o Prophets, or "Nabis," are messengers endowed with knowledge, wisdom, and the ability to guide their communities.
o Key figures include Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus, all of whom played pivotal roles in conveying God's commandments.
2. Risalat (Messengership):
o Focuses on the mission of the "Rasul" (messenger), a prophet tasked with delivering a specific message or scripture.
o While all Rasuls are Nabis, not all Nabis are Rasuls. Rasuls bring new scriptures or significant revelations.
o The final and most significant Rasul in Islam is Prophet Muhammad, who delivered the Quran, the last and complete revelation from Allah.
These concepts highlight the continuity and culmination of divine guidance in Islam, with Prophet Muhammad being the Seal of the Prophets, signifying the end of the prophetic tradition.
