They are both still very much together. Nadia said they have been together everyday since late 1991 when her friend who took care of her in Montreal died in an accident and she called Bart telling him that he is the only person in the world she trusts so please help her out because she had no idea what to do. They didn't even romantically go out until a year or so later and were officially just friends even though she moved in with him from the beginning haha. You should see the January 1990 Pat Sajak interview where it is the most awkward interview ever because Nadia and her weird "friend/manager/lover" Romanian immigrant married roofer from Florida were both interviewed and Bart sneakily showed up at the last second with roses for Nadia and she looked like the happiest woman on Earth. Bart had a crush on Nadia ever since 1976 and helped her escape from that weird Florida roofer who was abusing her and stole all her money that she made.

Despite being 31 years old here, Nadia hasn't lost any of her skill and would have absolutely received a perfect 10 for this. She still absolutely nailed her landings to perfection back then and here too. I haven't seen anyone do that so cleanly. Bart too, got two perfect 10s IIRC. He still looks shockingly as young as ever, even though he's over 60.

I was 12 years old in 1976, riveted to the TV as Nadia scored those first perfect 10's. I was a gymnastics fan to the core. My Grandma and I would watch all the events on TV. Flash forward to 1994. I turned 30 and my Grandma passed away. I didn't even know how to do a handspring. I walked into a gym and signed up. My first day, I learned a standing back tuck and handspring into back tuck. By my second day, I was turning double-backs. On my 3rd day, I learned front twisting fulls and triple fronts into the pit. And on my 4th day, double-twisting backs. If I didn't have it all on video, I don't think I'd believe it myself. Sadly, my Grandma never saw any of it.

She was sadly desperate for money in the early 1990s. The Romanian communist govt stole all of her money and the married Florida roofer who helped her escape Romania stole all her money that she made in late 1989 and early 1990. These exhibitions were organized by Bart her future husband because he wanted to help her make money and very quickly. It worked out very well for them because they fell in love as a result. They both are extremely wealthy today and have transformed Oklahoma into one of the largest gymnastics training centers in America.

@@thorthelionkingodinson4385 sexism at its finest. What a good thing that female gymnasts, and women in general, can nowadays be more muscular and thick without giving a shit about your opinion. Nadia loves all the love, happiness, and peace that Bart, their son, and her simple life in Oklahoma give her. She went through hell in communist Romania. Her mom said that the Romanian dictator's son abused Nadia in all types of ways and that was why Nadia escaped Romania. Then she was abused by the married Florida roofer who helped her to escape Romania. He also stole all her money. Coach Bela Karolyi also abused her badly but I think she doesn't complain about anything publically because all the bad things in her life led her to Bart in the end.

This is true. It shows the world that there were and still are some superb athletes from the old world (Europe, Asia,...).
