i am from Varanasi (Banaras ) where this movie was shoot.( Shooting - Varanasi and Ghazipur ). Now many thing are changed. Varanasi is growing very fast. People specially cloths are changed. Language of this film is mostly bhojpuri awadhi mixed hindi.

I saw an interview of Gunja ( Sadhana Singh) . She said the movie was almost not released. The production house was in financial doldrums. They released the movie in limited territories with hardly any fanfare and publicity. All the publicity was word of mouth and Nadiya ke paar was a sleeper hit and was released all over. The movie changed the fortunes of Rajashri productions.

Awadhi is a Dialect of Hindi ! Hindi is a refined and textbook language ... in North India there are many such dialects of Hindi ! Awadhi is indeed spoken in rural north india

What you addressed as 'Hindi - refined and textbook language', is essentially standardized Khari boli dialect, spoken in Delhi and Western UP. Fun fact, Standard Urdu is also based on khari boli dialect.

Awadhi is not just dialect it's grammar is different and much older than Hindi. Hindi is rather a very new language

If some similar words make a language dialect of other languages then probably every language in India is dialect of Sanskrit and Tamil.

@@sushantpandey897 I hope you understand the concept of language continuum and sprachsbund. You keep calling Khadi boli as Hindi, whereas Hindi is a family of languages, linguistically speaking. None of my comments implied that Awadhi is inferior to Khadi boli or vice versa. Furthermore, the debate between what are considered dialects and sister languages is still not settled. Then there is concept of register, for example, Manak Hindi and Saaf Urdu are different registers of the same language (standardized Khadi boli). But, there are people who will fight tooth and nail that Manak Hindi and Saaf Urdu are different languages, which goes into the realm of perceptions and emotive issues, and no longer study of linguistics.

Hum aapke hain kaun set up was in the 90s affluent close to punjabi family and their marriage rituals (they tried to mix the popular rituals during that time) Nadiya ke paar was rural setting and marriage rituals were according to State of Uttar Pradesh… Marriage rituals vary from state to state even family to family

I prefer this movie to the other/newer version. Because this movie portrays the village life of India so well. The village life charm is lost now. But watching this movie, takes many down the memory lane to those days and be nostalgic.

Palanquin was used by rich people or for a bride. She is looking at the bride. The scene matched with the conversation in the song right there. Guy is reminded of the wedding of his brother and some event and asks her what her friend was telling her. ... No another meaning or symbolism there.

It is such a beautiful song, I wish subtitles could do some justice (they are so off from actual lyrics). Basically they flirted with each other during whole song. The movie is very good. Buddy should watch it. Loved your reaction❤️ Almost forgot the song equalence of this song from Hum Apke hai kaun is 'Yeh Mausam ka jadoo hai mithwa'. This song is so beautiful but the subtitles were not even near the lyrics. It's hard to translate in english bcz it's not hindi, it's Bhojpuri (Avadhi) language which is regional language that north Indians understand n speak.
