I love watching local materials handcrafted into everyday items. I have used bamboo structurally in Costs Rica in homes, also splitting smaller diameter ones in half and weaving them for partitions but I had no idea bamboo is so pliable. I’ll have to try this process next time am around bamboo. Thanks for the video and cool music

Thanks for the video! It shows the concentration and determination of these people. I would prefer bamboo products, like steamers, with no metal or glass parts; of course, one should know the basics. It's sad that so much labour goes into a disposable product. I feel that such products can be re used by washing and bleaching.

N. E. states of India are very rich for bamboo harvesting. Bamboo can be crafted to make many household utility goods viz. Plates,baskets,hats, grain storage products, tables, chairs,leakproof bamboo corrugated roofs,bamboo floorsheet flower vas and many more. All these products are Biodegradable and pollution free for nature and environment. Respective governments should encourage local skilled craftsmen and entrepreneurs to stablish small scale industries with the help of state directorate of MSME . The sales & marketing must be secured by Gov.of India as well as business contacts with on line marketing &shopping companies. This will not only enable the livelihood of workers, bamboo farmers, enrich the entrepreneurs but also generate the revenues for the states.
