Real actual formation in combat. That would be exciting to view. Similar Roman formation with shield.

You can see them using gravity instead of strength which is generally faster anyway,so smooth these ladies they are very well trained?

They all have Hakamas on which in theory in Aikido should put them at 2nd Dan Black Belt or more,which means about fifteen years in but I’m not sure some of them are old enough?

Rank has nothing to do with wearing a hakama in most koryu. It's simply Keiko uniform. Nothing "special" about it.

from the things that I have read online, it used to be a martial art for women in the ancient times in Japan, considered a type of kendo... I think it was "kendo for women" (but not entirely sure) but today it is also practised by both genders, although it is still considered more of a female sport and i don't really think that it is 'girly', when it is practised in pairs, not just demonstrations, it requires athletic ability, it IS real martial art you can find info on Wikipedia :)

It's not originally 'girl only' either. Musashibo Benkei, the legendary warrior who protected Minamoto Yoshitsune until his last moments, and died standing? He was an near invincible warrior who wielded naginata. The naginata was a real weapon of war used by the samurai. But yes it was recommended that women of noble houses practice naginata because the weapon gives range and power advantage for the supposedly physically smaller and weaker women.

Really impressive. And when they "kiai" it's just burning me inside. A great force on a battlefield. Only the music sucks.

sadly they have to play "dreamgirls" as the theme song for females performing martial arts. why cant they justplay the same music they play for males? somehow it's cute if they are girls? you wouldnt think they were so cut when they busted your skull open.
